There's probably no one inside. . .But if there is I should go check, That way I know if I should call an ambulance or not. . .

I kept my car on, That way it's headlights would light up the car that was wedged in the ditch.

Carefully, I made my way out of my car and towards the wrecked vehicle, Cautious thanks to the very steep ditch it was lodged in.

Why is everything so steep around here?

''Hey? Is someone in there?'' I called out as I approached the driver side door.

There was, Of course, No response.

I bet there's no one inside. . .Who would stay in a crashed car in the middle of the night? It's creepy out here. . .

Peering into the car, I noticed someone was in there.

Whoever they were, They were slumped against the door, Unmoving.

Maybe they're passed out?

I couldn't make out much more though thanks to the dust that covered the window.

''You alright in there?. . .Can you respond?'' I questioned, Using my shirt sleeve to wipe the dust off the window as I spoke.

Wait. . .are they-. . .Oh dear god

My heart thudded loudly in my chest as I stumbled back from the car, Shocked.

The person inside. . .The young boy. . .Had dark, Nearly black liquid leaking from his slit throat, Staining his white shirt dark red down the front.

What the fuck. . .

I was shaking as I hurried back to my car, Quickly locking the doors as soon as I was inside.

I've never seen someone who's been murdered before. . .

My hands were trembling as I pulled out my phone, My stomach turning as I shakily dialed 9-1-1.

'''Nine one one, What's your emergency?''' The operator questioned, Her voice calm and even, Quite the contrast to my very shaky demeanor.

''There's a car crashed on the side of the road, The guy inside it is dead! He's. . .He's bleeding from his neck from the look of it'' I explained, My voice shaking and filled with panic.

Is the person who killed him someone nearby?

The surrounding corn fields seemed a lot more threatening now.

'''Calm down sir, Can you please tell me your location?''' The operator questioned, I could hear her typing something in while speaking with me.

''Y-Yes yes, I'm. . .I'm on county road thirteen'' I explained, Fumbling with the map I had bought just a moment before to find the road I was on.

'''Alright, Please try to remain calm, Officers are on their way. Do you see anyone nearby?''' The operator continued, Once again I could hear typing over the line as she spoke.

''Um. . .No. . .No, All I see is corn'' I muttered shakily, Staring intently at the tall, Grass related plants.

Is that shadow casted by the corn or is someone there watching me?

My heart was pounding away in my throat as I looked around, Terrified.

The Operator had politely told me that she had to take another call before hanging up, Leaving me alone.
