Good job! Proud of all of you! Hope was the correct answer.

And such, you will not face the extreme consequences of your previous choice. . .Still, things will happen due to the original selection.

A shiver ran down my back as I met his gaze, my heart picking up it's beating to the point that I feared it would fail on me, my breathing becoming shallow the longer he stared.

Slowly, I started to open the door, my body moving without my consent as horror started to dawn on me.

The more animal part of my brain screaming 'bad bad bad' 'danger danger danger' as I stared at the man before me, a few things starting to click into place.

Didn't his eyes once have pupils? no. . .they never had. . . Were his teeth always that sharp looking?  Yes. Is. . .Is that blood on his hands?. . .Not human.

'Wrong. Wrong. Wrong.'

My head was starting to throb in pain as I pulled the door the rest of the way open, my muscles refusing to listen to me as tears started to gather in my eyes.

The man. . .No. Being. On the other side of the door was grinning smugly as his grip on the door frame tightened slightly, causing the wood to crack instantly, like dried kindling.

I watched on in horror as the other man licked his lips in excitement, his tongue forked and pitch black as he stepped slowly over the threshold and into my home, his boots caked in the same blood that stained his hands.

Who's blood is that. . .

Suddenly, control returned to my limbs as I stumbled back away from the tall, imposing man, my heart pounding so very fast in my chest, causing me to hyperventilate.

''Go on. Run little rabbit. Let me have my fun.'' The man purred out, the panic in my mind clouding my judgement enough that I didn't fully process his words before turning and dashing through the house for the back door.

A bone chilling chuckle echoed behind me as I reached my only hope for escape.

Unlocking the back door, I risked a glance behind me.

And just like that. . .My heart nearly stopped in my chest as I watched the man with much longer limbs slowly enter into my line of sight.

His eyes were gone.

Replaced instead with empty hollow holes in his skull, from which the glimmer of something glowing reflected back.

The most Primal fear filled me, making me choke on my own fear as I shakily turned and stumbled out the back door, tears streaming down my face as I ran into the treeline. . .Heading straight for the cliff beyond the trees. . .Forgetting that it was there in my blind panic.

Laughter filled the darkness as I ran, echoing louder than even my racing heartbeat as I fled.

''Oh silly silly rabbit~ You've run right to my home terrain'' His voice chastised with such amusement as I stumbled out of the woods, skidding to a stop right at the edge of the cliff.

There's no where to go. . .

Staring down at the waves crashing against the shore below. . .I felt my heart sink as tears dripped down my cheeks. . .

There's no way down. . .Not quickly enough. . .I-

I-

There was a crunch behind me as the being. . .The THING that was chasing me announced it's presence by stepping on one of the many sticks it had previously avoided in it's chase.

''No longer running little rabbit? Given up?'' The creature taunted quietly as my gaze remained fixed on the stones below, tears obscuring my entire vision.

I still had so much more I wanted to do in my life. . .This way supposed to be my new start. . .The spring of my life. . .And yet. . .

I'm going to die. . .

''Well then, to the victor goes the spoils.'' The voice behind me growled out tauntingly, something in his tone making images of pain and torture flash through my mind.

Either I was going to die painfully at the sharp teeth and claws of the being behind me. . .Or. . .I. . .Could jump.

Leave myself to the mercy of the cold stones and rushing water below.

Swallowing thickly, a heavy pain in my chest, I leaned forwards, sending myself over the edge. . .

Well. . .I should have gone over the edge. . .

Instead. . .I face planted into a warm, firm chest, a pair of arms wrapping gently around me as I did so.

The mystery person kept one arm around the small of my back as his other raised up so his hand was holding my face firmly against his chest.

''Hey now, none of that'' A voice murmured above me, warm and solid and so very gentle compared to the cold raspy purr of the creature chasing me.

''What issss this. Let go of my new host.'' The creature snarled, it's voice so close I could practically feel it's cold breath on the nape of my neck, making me struggle against the mystery person's grip in a blind panic.

''Host? this one isn't one of your worshipers, he is not marked. He isn't your new host'' A familiar, slightly raspy voice chastised from somewhere off to my left, bringing to mind the nice, long haired man who worked at the motel.

I wanted to pull away from the mystery person so I could see what was going on around me, the unnatural. . .and VERY natural fear of the creature behind me making me very skittish. . .But at the same time. . .My body, yet again, was outside of my control.

''He read the tome. Only my followers have the tomes.'' The creature protested, drawing a small squeak from me as I remembered the mysterious book that I now realized had vanished.

This is what brought it? All because I read some stupid book I found in my own home?? Why. . .wh-

Suddenly, the hand on my head started to move. . .Gently petting me. . .

''Just because he read some dumb summoning book doesn't mean he's yours.'' The person above me protested before the creature spoke up again.

''He interacted with my domain. That means he's rightfully mine. I can decide what I want to do with it.'' The creature snarled out, It's voice cold and so filled with hate.

''If interacting with a demi god's domain means he's that god's property, then he's mine'' The raspy voiced man protested, his voice quiet but firm.

Am. . .Am I seriously about to become some god's property?

:D He's going to live. . .Just how he lives. . .That's up for debate.
