Selected choice: -:Call Dario:-

Here we go :)

---------------------------------------------

Was this left by the murderer?. . .Is this some kind of warning?. . .

With my heart thudding loudly in my chest, I hurried back inside, Nearly tripping on the front steps in my rush.

Closing the door behind me, I fumbled around for the paper Dario's number was on.

Where is it. . .Where is it?

I was looking through random piles of paper I had somehow gotten somewhere along the way of moving when I remembered. . .

It's in my pocket isn't it. . .Okay. Okay. . .I'm not gonna survive long am I?

Pulling out his number, I sent a text to the kind officer, The politeness that was drilled into me preventing me from wanting to call him and risk waking him at this hour.

'Hey, It's Aiden. . .Um, Someone left a beheaded rabbit on my back doorstep'

'What do I do?'

I stared at my phone for a moment before putting it away in my pocket.

Guess I'll just hunker down and have some breakfast while I wait for a response. . .

Pulling some ingredients out of the cooler, I turned on the portable Butane stove my dad had insisted I take with me to college 'Just in case' and set about making pancakes, Looking for plates and forks as I waited for the food to fry in the pan.

Can't wait until the electricity gets turned on today. . .

My phone let out a quiet ding, Letting me know I had a text.

'Hey, Omw to work, Think you can send a picture?'

A picture of. . .Right! Right, The rabbit. . .

I had gotten distracted by making breakfast, Which was clearly stupid because. . .Murderer on the loose and all that.

Oh I don't wanna go back out again. . .

I'm gonna get shanked. . .

Turning off the stove, and removing the pan from it, I made sure it wasn't going to catch anything on fire, Before reluctantly, I went back outside.

The rabbit was still there. . .But with a lot more blood pooling under it's brownish grey body.

Well. . .At least it didn't move. . .Small blessings I guess. . .

Taking a picture of it, I hurried back inside, Not feeling safe out of my house.

Ironic considering it was my house that had been broken into. . .Not the woods.

Still, I felt a lot better with the doors closed and secured behind me, Safe back inside my house.

Going back into my kitchen, I poked at my cooling pancakes as I sent the bloody picture to Dario.

'There was a trail of blood leading from my front door to where I found it out back'

I explained further, Watching the little ' . . .' dots dance in a little bubble as Dario typed for a while.

'That's odd'

'Well, The rabbit doesn't look like it's been killed by a person, Too torn up. . .Might be a feral cat'
