Suddenly, we heard a loud crack that came from the side of the Mountain. It seems that everyone already knew what was coming, and after a few moments, the assumptions were confirmed. Smaug attacked the Lake-Town.

There was one big chaos. People screamed and tried to run away from the town, but not everyone succeeded. Half of the people were fried alive by the dragon, and others went through other torments.

"We have no time. " Tauriel said. "We must leave. "

I nodded to her as a sign that I understood and approached Kili to help him get up.

"We're not leaving. " Bain said. "Not without our father. "

"If you stay, your sisters will die ". Elf replied and turned towards the boy. "Is that what your father would want?"

Bain didn't speak again.

We left the Bard's house and went to the boat that was standing at the back of the house.

Bofur and Fili rowed, and as for Kili, it was much better with him. Now I was only afraid of what about the others, from our Company. We didn't even know if they were still alive. I quickly chased away the bad thoughts.

Thorin and the others are alive. I thought. For sure.

Suddenly, Smaug flew just above our heads. At the sight of him, I shook my eyes. He flew a little further and breathed fire again.

"Poor people. " I said. "You have to help them somehow. "

"We don't have a how. " Tauriel glanced at me. "No weapon can defeat him. " She added.

"Look out! " Tilda shouted.

I looked in the direction she was showing and saw a boat much bigger than ours. We didn't have time to brake and collided with it. And to whom did it belong? Of course, to the Master of the Lake-Town. He ran away on it with all his gold and Alfrid at his side.

The dragon breathed fire again, but this time much closer to us.

"Look out! " Kili shouted, then moved closer and covered me with his own body so that I wouldn't get burned.

The dragon flew away and breathed fire elsewhere.

"You're okay? " Brunet asked, as he had already let me out of his embrace.

"Yes. " I replied. "Thank you. "

We sailed on, but with each passing moment I began to doubt that we could get out of here, because the road was blocked by the remains of broken bridges and houses. Tauriel, on the other hand, wasn't worried about it. She told Fili and Bofur where to sail and after a few moments the road was clear.

"Dad! " Bain shouted suddenly, and after a while the sisters joined him.

I looked in that direction and it was indeed a Bard. He stood on one of the towers and shot the dragon with a bow.

"Hit it! He hit the dragon! " Kili shouted.

"No. " Tauriel replied.

"He did! He hit his mark! I saw! " Kili said.

"His arrows cannot pierce its hide. " Elf said. "I fear nothing will. "

She was right. The only weapon that could kill the dragon was a Black Arrow.

Bain sat for a moment pensively, then jumped to his feet, grabbed the rope and jumped ashore.

"What are you doing?! " Bofur shouted after him.
