Katara (Avatar : The Last Airbender)

Now let the story begin.

Fire Nation Soldier : Please, have mercy!

[Y/N] gets angry and waterbends several daggers, pointing them at the soldier.

[Y/N] : Mercy? MERCY?! When you attacked my village and slaughtered everyone besides myself, where was our mercy?! You took away everyone I loved, and for that you will pay the ultimate price!

[Y/N] is the sole survivor from a small village of waterbenders completely massacred by the Fire Nation.

Before he could kill the soldier in a blind rage, a familiar voice calls to him.

??? : [Y/N], please don't do this!

[Y/N] turns around and sees Katara, along with her brother Sokka and Aang, the current Avatar.

[Y/N] met the three when they were on their way to the North Pole to find Aang a waterbending teacher. Katara asked [Y/N] if he wanted to come with them, to which he agreed and has been a member of their group ever since.

[Y/N] : Are you really defending him?! After everything the Fire Nation has done?! All the lives they've ruined and taken away?! I won't rest until every Fire Nation soldier feel the pain of all the innocent people they killed!

Aang : Revenge isn't going to solve anything [Y/N], it's not worth it.

Sokka : This isn't like you dude, you need to chill out.

Katara looks at [Y/N] with pleading eyes.

Katara : I understand how you feel [Y/N], Sokka and I lost our mom to the Fire Nation. I know you're angry right now, but do you think [S/N] would want to see you like this?

[Y/N] froze in place.

[Y/N] : Sis...

[S/N] is [Y/N]'s older sister, who was basically the center of his world since she was the one who took care of him after their parents died of an incurable illness. He still remembers his final moments with her when their village was attacked....

Flashback

[Y/N] : Hold on sis, I can heal you! Please hold on!

[S/N] lays on the ground and weakly looks up at her brother with a sad smile.

[S/N] : I'm sorry little brother, but it's too late for me now. Do your big sis a favor and run, run far away from here. I love you [Y/N], and I'll always be with you....

She lets out her last breath and closes her eyes for the last time.

[Y/N] : Wake up, please wake up sis! I need you, don't leave me!

[Y/N] starts crying uncontrollably and obliges to his sister's dying wish, but not before giving her a goodbye kiss on the forehead.

Flashback End

[Y/N] begins to tear up as he lets the soldier flee.

[Y/N] falls to his knees and cries.

[Y/N] : I'm sorry, I'm so sorry. I just miss them all so much, I miss her so much. Why did I have to survive when they didn't?! I wish I died with them, just so I wouldn't feel this unbearable pain in my heart!

Katara hates seeing [Y/N] in such emotional pain, not just for the fact that they're close friends, but because she has developed strong romantic feelings for him.

She walks over to [Y/N] and hugs him in a warm embrace.

Katara : I know you miss them, but I think they would be happy you survived, especially [S/N]. You are a very important person to me [Y/N], and I'm glade to have met you.

Aang and Sokka look at the sentimental scene in front of them.

Sokka : Let's go Aang, I think we should give them some time alone.

Aang : Ok.

Sokka and Aang walk off, leaving [Y/N] and Katara alone.

[Y/N] looks into Katara's eyes and gives her a small smile.

[Y/N] : Thank you Katara, I appreciate all your kind words. You are a very important person in my life as well.

Katara smiles at him.

Katara : No problem [Y/N].

[Y/N] stays silent for a moment and looks at her.

[Y/N] : ....Katara, I think I need to tell you something.

Katara : What is it?

[Y/N] faintly blushes.

[Y/N] : You are amazing Katara, and you always know how to calm me down and make me feel better. You're smart, kind, a great listener, and incredibly beautiful.

Katara blushes.

[Y/N] : What I'm trying to say is that I love you Katara. It's ok if you don't feel the same way though, I'd be more than happy to just be fri-

[Y/N] is cut off by Katara kissing him on the lips.

Katara : I feel the same way [Y/N], I love you too. I've had feelings for you ever since we met you, I was just so drawn to you that I asked if you wanted to travel with us, and I'm glad you said yes.

[Y/N] smiled and kissed her.

[Y/N] : I am too, you guys are like family to me. I love you Katara, and I know we will put an end to the Fire Nation's reign of terror. We'll avenge everyone the Fire Nation has wronged, and we'll do it together.

Katara pulls him in for another kiss.

Katara : I love you too [Y/N], and I know Aang and my brother also think of you as family. We will help Aang master the other 2 elements and bring down the Fire Lord, and then the world will finally be at peace once again. Now let's go find the others so we can leave, we have to start looking for an earthbending teacher for Aang.

[Y/N] and Katara walk off looking for Aang and Sokka, unaware that the spirit of [S/N] is watching them with a smile.
