Now let the story begin.

[B/N] : I can't wait to see Jasmine again! I hope she's not busy, because I really wanna play with her and Amphy!

The little 7 year old says excitedly as he walks with his older brother [Y/N] on their way to the Olivine Lighthouse to visit Jasmine, the city's gym leader and [Y/N]'s childhood friend.

[Y/N] : Considering the gym is closed right now, it's safe to assume she doesn't have any challengers today.

As they get closer to the lighthouse, [Y/N] notices something strange.

The lighthouse doesn't seem to be operational. I hope Amphy's ok.

Amphy is the name of the Ampharos who illuminates the city's lighthouse, whom [Y/N] has known for a long time.

Jasmine and I raised him since he was just a fluffy little Mareep. Without his light, it would be impossible for ships and planes to navigate their way to Olivine.

[B/N] : Jasmine must be on the top floor! Race you there big bro!

[Y/N] : Hold on, we can take the elevator!

He is ignored as his brother begins running up the stairs.

I swear this kid is gonna cause me to keel over from anxiety one day...

[Y/N] : Wait for me [B/N]!

Upon reaching the top floor, the two brothers find Jasmine comforting a very weak looking Amphy.

[B/N] : Oh no! Jasmine, what happened to Amphy?!

Jasmine : [B/N]? What are you doing here?

[Y/N] : We came here to visit you, but clearly now is a bad time.

Amphy tries to greet [Y/N], but is too weak to move.

Jasmine : Save your energy Amphy, just try to relax.

[Y/N] : Poor thing. Is there anything we can do to help?

Jasmine : Well, I hate to ask you this [Y/N], but could you travel to Cianwood City to pick up a special medicine I ordered from the pharmacy?

[B/N] : Of course he will! Won't you big bro?

[Y/N] : If it's for Amphy, then absolutely.

Jasmine : Thank you so much [Y/N]!

She pulls her friend into a tight hug, causing him to blush.

[Y/N] : N-no problem Jasmine. Can you watch over [B/N] while I'm gone?

She nods as [B/N] rushes over to Amphy's side.

[Y/N] : Alright then, I'll be back soon.

He leaves the lighthouse and walks to the shoreline, letting out his Gyarados into the water.

[Y/N] : Ok bud, you and I are gonna make a quick trip to Cianwood. Amphy's health is at stake.

Gyarados roars in understanding as [Y/N] climbs onto the back of the ferocious water type.

Just hold on a little bit longer Amphy, you'll be feeling better in no time.

Timeskip

After acquiring the SecretPotion for Amphy from Cianwood's pharmacy, [Y/N] and his trusty Gyarados head back to Olivine as quickly as possible.

[Y/N] : Thank you so much for helping out Gyarados. After all the swimming you did, you've earned yourself a good rest.

He returns Gyarados to her pokèball and hurriedly makes his way to the top of the lighthouse.

[Y/N] : I'm back, and I've got the SecretPotion right here!

Jasmine grabs the medicine from him and tries giving it to Amphy, who refuses to take it.

[B/N] : Why won't Amphy take the medicine?!

Amphy lets out a small cry and points at [Y/N], which Jasmine seems to understand the meaning of.

Jasmine : I think Amphy's trying to tell us that he wants [Y/N] to feed him the medicine.

[Y/N] : Is that what you want Amphy?

The electric type simply nods as [Y/N] leans down next to him.

[Y/N] : Ok buddy, open wide.

Jasmine hands [Y/N] one of the pills as Amphy sniffs it and takes it from his hand before swallowing it.

Now all we can do is wait. Please let this work.

After a few minutes, Amphy gets up and begins walking around the room, much to everyone's relief.

Jasmine : So, how do you feel Amphy?

Amphy cries happily as he jumps into [Y/N]'s arms and hugs him, accidentally giving him a tiny shock.

[Y/N] : Aww, I love you too bud. I'm so glad to see you back in good health. Just try not to give me too much of a shock ok?

[B/N] : Yay! Amphy's back to normal! Big bro is a hero!

Jasmine : He definitely is [B/N].

She walks over to [Y/N] after he lets Amphy down and gives him a small kiss on the cheek, making him really flustered.

[Y/N] : W-what was that for Jasmine?

Jasmine : I just wanted to thank you for saving Amphy. You're an amazing person [Y/N].

[Y/N] : T-thanks Jasmine.

Jasmine smiles before turning her attention to Amphy, who gives her a knowing look.

A promise is a promise Amphy. It's time I told him how I feel.

Jasmine : Hey [Y/N]?

[Y/N] : Yes Jasmine?

Jasmine : We've been friends for so long, but there's something I haven't told you.

[Y/N] : What is it?

She takes a deep breath before smiling lovingly at him.

Jasmine : I love you [Y/N].

Those four words cause him to stare at her in disbelief.

I'm not imagining this am I? Did she just say she loves me?!

[Y/N] : J-Jasmine, I feel the same way about you. I love you too.

The steel type gym leader blushes as her lips collide with his while Amphy and [B/N] watch in delight.

[B/N] : This is awesome! It's about time you got a girlfriend big bro! Right Amphy?

Amphy : *happily agrees*

[Y/N] and Jasmine continue to kiss, their love for each other shining as brightly as Amphy's light.
