-----------

He laid on his side, knees curled close to him as his arm propped his head up from the cold floor while his other arm lay limply in front of him. She couldn't help but smile, his thick lashes brushed against his cheeks, his lips parted slightly and his hair was still intact.

She traced the bruises along his mask with her eyes, remembering what Captain Man had asked her to do.

Protect him.

While she wished to be free from this ratchet place, she also was glad she was here in this moment. It was as if she wasn't risking her life, with him, it seemed like the constant fear that nibbled at her, dissipated. She knows that she had only just met him and he was a simple key piece to her escape but something else seemed to flood her the moment she spoke to him.

It was if the conversations flowed so easily like she had nothing to uphold, she could be herself, the moment was no longer serious, it was enjoyable. Something she never got to experience while here. Granted she and Spray Z were close, and Lauren was a delight to be around, yet, there were no responsibilities when she spoke to Kid Danger, just the sunshine on a gloomy day.

It was like the two had instant sparks when they met.

From the moment he arrived, he already showed her what it was like to feel, and perhaps if they did succeed, she couldn't wait for what lay before her. Most of all, she hoped he was there.

She didn't realize how much time she had spent down here as her eyes looked at the lit screen of his phone, already a few hours have passed. Even closer to the next interrogation.

Knowing it wasn't much and wouldn't protect him from what was to come, she turned to face the boy. "It's all going to be okay, I promise, I will get you out of here." Even though he was resting, she hoped he would respond, to hear his voice.

I'm not going to let anything happen to you.

Side Note:

If you guys are interested, we cannot wait to share it with you! Some of you might not have heard of the show, but if others of you have enjoyed it, we hope you enjoy the story!

DON'T WORRY, WE HAVEN'T FORGOTTEN ABOUT TROLL HUNTERS! IT'S A SIDE PROJECT WHEN WE GET WRITER'S BLOCK!

Also, I got major food poisoning, so this was a little late.

Please, enjoy!

A pair of drumsticks appeared into view, a familiar voice, Darci had begun to chant out, tapping the drumsticks in rhythm.
