One more month went by, two more months to go. One more case wrapped today and we got back to Quantico in the morning. But now it's 10 pm and I'm still in the office with so many things to do. The bullpen is completely empty.

My phone rings and I put it in my ear while continuing to write.
"Barnes" I answer

"Hello gorgeous" Aaron's voice almost brings me goosebumps

"Hi. Hello. I wasn't expecting to hear from you today" I admit

"Yeah, but I got some time. Are you busy?" he asks

"I am but I can multitask"

"Wait, you're still in the office? Why?"

"Seriously? YOU'RE asking? Well, I am drowning in papers..."
"And I am losing my mind..." I kind of sing the last part

"That bad?" he asks

"Yes. I didn't quite finish the reports from the last case, so now I have to do that, plus paperwork from the latest case, plus review the team's reports, plus do Emily's reports because the witch is waiting for all of them on her desk by the morning" I rant

"What happened with Emily?" he wonders

"She has a scheduled vacation this and the next week. But the latest case came in two days ago and by the time we got back, she was barely catching her flight. I offered to do her paperwork so she could go. She deserves that vacation" I explain

"You deserve vacation too. You're too good for them" he says

"No, you're too good to them and now I'm just paying the price. At least I've put everyone doing their own tactical arrest plan reports from now on. You're welcome" I inform him

"You did? Why?"

"Detention... And because you're doing too much for what you are getting paid for, love"

He chuckles. "Do you think you'll be done in an hour or two maybe?" he asks

"Oh no. There is no way"

"Can you take a break?"

"Taking a break will just delay me. I told you, I can talk and write. You don't have to hung up"

"I didn't mean that...".

"Shut up" I say as I jump out of my chair and I run out of the office.

I see him coming up the stairs and I freeze.

Beard.
Camouflage pants.
Green t-shirt.
Combat boots.
BEARD!

He walks past his office and towards me. "Why didn't you tell me?" I ask

"It was last minute. Surprise" he answers.
