I opened my eyes to the sound of the beeping machine tracking my heart rate. Everything was white and dull, probably because of the bright lighting of the hospital lights.

I gave a small smile and raised my shaking left hand to wave at everyone standing outside of the window of the room I was in, while my right hand rested on my chest.

Please hold on a bit longer, I begged inside my head silently, with a tear escaping my eye.

Blake and Alisa came in first. Blake had been crying. I could see his eyes were blood red and puffy. Alisa looked down too.

Blake sat down beside me on the bed, taking my left hand and holding onto it tightly, while Alisa just stood behind his back, her hand on his shoulder. "Not so badass anymore, huh?" He asked me and I smiled softly, my eyes tearing up.

"You're not gonna come haunt me for being a bad friend, are you?" He joked.

"Thanks for reminding me." I said softly and he let out a small laugh, along with a tear.

He wasn't a bad friend. Looking back, I remembered more good than bad. Like when we'd walk to school every morning together, skipping through the city, stopping to get coffee, or when he'd climb into my window at night because he felt as if though I needed him. Which was true, most of the times. He was my best friend and I'd always consider him to be one despite everything else.

He kissed me on my cheek softly, his warm lips heating my cold cheek up. He let go of my hand and Alisa gave me a smile, then they left the room.

Next Papi entered. He smiled weakly and I smiled back at him. He let out a big breath before speaking. "If there's one thing I could wish for Roxy, it would be more time but time waits for no one. So maybe, I'd wish for a do over. A restart. A chance to do it all right, maybe I could of saved you from this, from everything you had to go through because of me leaving." He said, sighing tiredly.

I shook my head in response, grabbing his hand.

"I wouldn't have it any another way. Everything that happened was meant to be. We just have to trust in the almighty and stay strong. Promise me, you'll stay strong."

"I promise." He said, kissing my forehead then leaving the room.

Next was Nina. "Hey you." She said, with a shaky voice as she sat down beside me. I took her hands in mine and held it by my heart. "Nina, there's something I need you to do for me."

She nodded with flowing wet tears.

I explained to her what had to be done and she agreed that she would do it, giving me a tight hug before leaving the room.

Troy's grandmother entered next with some flowers, placing them on the table beside my bed. "Oh, darling." She started. "You are truly an angel. You entered my grandson's life and turned his whole world around. You gave him a love that he'd cherish forever. You gave us all something we'd treasure for the rest of our lives. Rest peacefully my girl." She ended, kissing my forehead softly then left.

By now, my pillow was wet with tears and the monitor kept beeping. Lucy stood by the window, watching me, as she shook with tears running down her little face.

Troy picked her up and walked into the room. He smiled at me, lying Lucy down beside me, and she immediately wrapped her arms around me. "Hey, no crying on your birthday." I told her and she shook her head. I rubbed her head, stroking her hair, as she sobbed louder. "Lucy." I said, and she sat up, her lips pouting. "I'll always love you." I told her. "I'll always love you too." She said back.

"So, don't be sad. No type of sickness could ever stop me from loving you. I'll be gone for a while but soon we'll meet again." I assured her.

"Promise?"

"I promise." I said, giving her one last kiss, before Nina came in to get her.

Bye Lucy.

Troy could barely look me in the eye. He just looked down into his lap. I swallowed hard. "Look at me." I said, reaching for his face, to turn it my way. I lifted my head up slightly to kiss his lips, he kissed mine back. It was deep, salty yet sweet. I opened my eyes and kissed him on the forehead next, then both sides of his cheeks and the tip of his nose. "I love you Troy." I whispered afterwards.

He bit his bottom lip trying to be strong. "I love you Roxy."

This would be the last time. The last time I hear those words. The last time I feel his touch.

I could rest now. I could leave this world and I'd be satisfied. I'd be happy. I'd be ready. I closed my eyes, my fingers intertwined between his.

"I'll see you soon." I whispered.

"Take care, dream girl." He said, his voice firm but shaky.

I gave him one last smile before shutting my eyes and for the first time in my life, there was light. No darkness. No agonizing pain. No fear. Just a warm welcoming light. Goodbye world.

I watched as the heart monitor flatlined and lowered my head, still holding on to her hand.

Roxy was gone. Forever.
