"That will be forty five dollars!" The cashier enthused happily.

I handed her the correct amount of money then took the three bags from the counter. "Have a good day!" She told me.

"Likewise." I said Bluntly, before walking out the grocery store and walking home. After my gym session I drove home to get some money.

Thankfully everyone was asleep even Jake. My stepdad. He was asleep on the couch.

In all honesty I hated him. Jake and mom got married when I was ten, then they had Lucy. Since the beginning of their marriage they've been fighting. The police would show up at least every two weeks and poor Lucy had been growing up in between all the chaos.

It's been two years since Jake stopped working, he'd just been lying at home and playing computer games all day long, not really helping out around the house either. "Atleast he does the dishes." Mom would cover up for him. So, I guess she was satisfied with that. Mom catered for birthday parties, special occasions, and sometimes even just individual customers but there were times when no one ordered and mom failed to get any income.

Lucy was supposed to start school this year but Jake never bothered to register her in at one. She wasn't complaining though, why would she? School sucked.

I walked onto the porch and opened the front door with my key, the door creaking a bit, as I walked in and shut it behind me.

Jake still lied on the couch, snoring like a pig if I may add. No offense to any pigs. I entered the kitchen and placed the bags on the kitchen counter. I spent some time unpacking the bags. I packed the tins into the cabinet like the sweetcorn, baked beans, tomato slices, peach slices, and tuna. The yogurt, juice, the lettuce and cucumber, as well as a tray of eggs went into the fridge, the Ice-cream into the freezer. Cupcake mix, and waffle mix into the cupboard. All the fruit in the fridge drawer such as the strawberries, blue berries, grapes, cherries and sweet melon. I continued packing the last groceries away like the milk, the bread, cereal etc.

Once I was done I checked the time on my phone, which read 7:30. First period started at 8:30 so, I had exactly one hour. I washed up the dishes that had piled up for the last two days. I cleaned the counters and cupboard doors as well as the handles. I packed the dishes away, swept the house and then mopped. I took the washing out of the washer and hung it outside on the clothing liner.

I liked cleaning as a child. It helped clear my head. I also tried my best to help mom out. Before Jake, she was a single mother to me. She worked 9-5 at a pharmacy and didn't get much earnings from it. My grandmother then had to take care of me. I missed her the most these days.

I went up to my room to grab my school bag from my bed, as well as my phone and earplugs. I checked the time again which was now 8:32.

I grabbed my keys from the kitchen counter and rushed out the door, locking up quickly before jumping onto my motorbike and speeding off.

I soon arrived at school and parked my motorbike before jumping off. I knew I was late because the parking lot wasn't full of nasty bitches and stupid dickheads eyeing me. I liked it that way. I made my way towards the school building, the gravel crunching underneath my shoes. I entered the school and the halls were empty. Perfect, I thought to myself as I walked towards my locker to get my notebook.

I slammed the locker door shut after I got my things and turned around to walk but nearly bumped into the biggest dickhead of them all.
