Later on, Kendra stopped by the school library to read some books. She was behind on school work as her anger about changing city and school hadn't subsided. Leaving her no desire to.After selecting a few books to read, she found a table and settled down quickly. Sitting opposite her, was a person whose face she couldn't see. The person was sleeping and snoring so loudly. Too loud for a person in a library. Covering the person's face, was a big textbook. Kendra got irritated and tapped on the textbook.
"Hey, some of us are trying to read you know?"Her words seemed to have no effect as the person continued to have a fun time in dream land. This time, snoring louder than before.
Kendra gave a knock on the hard cover of the textbook this time. Startling the person from their slumber. The person woke up with a stretch, and now dried drool on the corner of her mouth.Ewww!!!
So gross...Taking a closer look at the person, she finally knew who it was.
"Mandy?
You! You were not in class today."Mandy adjusted her glasses, which where about fall off due to her terrible sleeping position.
"You noticed?
Wow, I must be getting popular!"Kendra cleared her throat nervously. It felt quite awkward talking to Mandy. She remembered she had clearly told her she liked being alone. Mandy saw through her that instant.
"Awww..
She's trying not to be nice.
Well, I've been here working.
Two months ago, i was a victim of Bella.
Since then, i was made to do her homework for her. Even that of her Minions...
But the one called Thelma, she's a nice girl. She's..... different!"Kendra was both surprised and angry at the same time.
"So, you just let them treat you like this?"Mandy could only shrug.
"There's nothing i can do.
To start with, they run the school!
Her parents donate fat sum of money to the school every year. Her father is really close to Melissa's father, the principal.
And to crown it all, her boyfriend is the king of the school."Kendra frowned.
"Boyfriend?""Yes,boyfriend!"
Mandy continued.
"His name is Jay Walker...
He's got four handsome friends.
Nolan, Dennis, Roy, and Tristan!"Jay?
She remembered that name coming from the whispers of girls in the class earlier today. For some reason, Kendra was dissapointed after knowing Bella and Jay were a couple.
Mandy stared at her. Wondering why there was a frown on her beautiful face.
"You seem quite interested in Bella's world...
Wait till you meet Jay and his friends"Kendra answered uninterested.
"Yeah, I met them already..
They were in class today."Mandy was shocked.
"Gosh!
I can't believe i missed Tristan's face...
He's the one with the smallest eyes. He's got a mole on his left cheek."
She whispered.
"Don't tell anyone, he's my crush.."
She giggled like a two year old.
Her giggling was cut short when the librarian stopped by their table. Adjusting her spectacles while glaring at them. Pointing at Mandy,"Miss Moncrief, you seem to be done here."
Mandy could only nod.
"Yes ma'am, we were just leaving.."
The librarian gave a tight smile, then walked away.Kendra questioned.
"We?"Mandy smiled, while arranging her books in her backpack.
"Yes, let's go together.
They should be practicing for the upcoming basketball games...
Let's go watch them!"
Kendra was reluctant at first. But she accepted for the sole purpose of seeing Jay. She wanted to to see those blue eyes again. So in the end, she left with Mandy.****
Getting to the basketball court, they found Jay and his friends, and also other members of the team practicing. Their bodies glistening with sweat. Mandy was surprised not to find Bella there. She always came to watch Jay practice. Instantly, she guessed something was not right between the both of them. But she couldn't care less. Bella's absence meant she had enough time to watch them practice, while ogling at Tristan.
Kendra watched them silently. She was mesmerized by how many shots Jay could make in a minute. Slamming the dunk at intervals. He was the king of this game. The court was packed with students, girls especially. Cheering and giggling anytime Jay gave a shot. Everyone was there to watch him, and he he knew. The confidence could be seen in his smirks when ever the girls screamed his name passionately after a wonderful throw.
Watching him do his thing, Kendra was reminded of a popular saying.
Men look more handsome, when they're working.
She couldn't find any words to refute. Watching Jay own the court, she could totally relate to that saying.A/N: Another update!
Kendra and Jay huh?
Who else is loving this match?
