Carpe diem. It is a Latin phrase that translates to seizing the moment and making your life extraordinary. If you ever wondered where it got famous from, it came from a film called Dead Poets Society, which featured Robin Williams and other famous actors. It was an exceptionally inspiring and uplifting film and if you are interested, go check it out.

That brings me to what I want to say about this chapter, carpe diem. Don't get me wrong, seizing the moment and making your life extraordinary does not mean going on full speed in life all the time. It means being able to feel and experience with your every sensation, every moment in life when you feel most alive. It can be your first time of making a pottery mug at a pottery workshop, or it can be your first dating experience, or it can just be as simple as your first time owning your own plant. Life isn't always about going full-on and full speed all the time. Sometimes, it's quite the opposite. It is also about taking a breather from stress in life and being able to become aware of your own state of mind and being. It is okay to slow down and pause from life.

Pausing from life helps you gain a reflective angle of your current situation, be it good or bad. It also helps clear your mind and make you become aware of whatever the problem or situation you are currently facing. For example, travelling can be a good way to take a pause in life. Travelling brings you out from your current situation and helps you loosen your mind a bit when you are in times of trouble. It gives you a fresh perspective to your problems and life in general. And sometimes, it does not hurt to seek advice from your trusted peers and family members. They know you best so it would be good and fitting to seek advice from them when you need help.

So lesson eight, carpe diem. Seize the day and enjoy every little moments that life brings and surprises you. And talk to people you love and trust when you need help. They know best.
