Chapter Thirteen

"WHAT will you buy?" I asked Vyn.

Nasa loob na kami ng convenience store.

"I want some beer. Ikaw?"

"Cup noodles will do."

We pick up some beers and cup noodles. We also bought some chips then we decided to walk by the roadside.

"Hindi, ah! Nung high school lang ako yon!" Tanggi ko. Well, Vyn is teasing me about that crush crush thing.

"Really? So you had crushes back then? Isn't it childish?" Clueless na tanong niya.

"Hindi ah. Masaya kaya na may ina admire ka pag pumapasok. Like kunyari bad days mo tas pag nakita mo siya suddenly mapapangiti ka na lang. Tapos kikiligin ka kahit small interactions lang," tila nag iimagine na kwento ko.

"Right.. now...uh... D-do you have c-crush on s-someone?"

Natigilan ako sa tanong niya. It is my deepest secret, did I confess it someone? I didn't .....right? I am busy fighting with my own thoughts when memories of my drunk night started showing up. Grab driver......outside the bar.......stranger....... confession.......wait, was it really a stranger? Vyn is the one to take me home so it means.....

"Oh my God.."

"What?" Nakakunot ang noo na tanong ni Vyn.

Umiling ako. Well, hindi naman niya alam na naalala ko yung nangyari so I'd better just shut my mouth.

"Wala kang crush ngayon?" Tanong niya muli.

"H-huh? W-wala."

"Bakit wala na?!"

Nagitla ako sa tono niya kaya napalingon ako sa kaniya. I saw him tightly close his eyes like he regretted what he just said.

"I.. mean ano...diba.. sabi mo nakaka inspire pumasok pag ganon para inspire ka mag aral.." dire diretsong sabi niya saka naunang naglakad.

Tumawa ako bago siya sundan. Tahimik na naming binabaybay ang daan pauwi. It's already eleven fifty but funny, I am not feeling sleepy. Malapit na kami sa building when the sky lighted! Fireworks started lighting the whole place.

"It's so prettyyyy!!!" I squeled and even make a little jumps.

"You're childish," he chuckled.

"Whatever, old man." I teased.

"Who's the old man, huh?"

"Ikaw sino pa ba. Bleh!" I stuck out my tongue to really tease him.

I was about to tease him again but I saw him running towards me. My eyes widened and run for him not to catch me! I'm glad that the road is clear because it's already midnight.

"Let's see who's the old man if ever I catch you."

Under the nonstop fireworks above and the light from the streetlights surounding us, we run and laugh as we both tried catching each other as happiness filled our hearts like we're the only one in this world.

"Thank you for spending my bi—I mean tonight. Thank you for tonight, Dianne." Hinatid niya ako sa unit ako after namin maglaro sa labas.

"Thank you for tonight too, Vyn. I enjoyed it a lot."

"Uh, magpahinga ka na. Goodnight."

"It's actually good mor-night, Mr. Castueraz." I tried joking.

Ngumisi siya. "Yeah, good mor-night."

He left after.

"GOOD morning," I was woken up by Vyn's loud knocks in my unit.

I rolled my eyes to him before opening the door wide. Well, I'm too pissed at him. Anong oras na kami nakatulog kagabi kakakwentuhan at naghabulan pa kamu and now he's here again inside my condo! Take note that it's just five o'clock in morning.
