Almost time

"Let me bring something from our pod too, yesterday we collected some mussels and I got some seeds that will be good with the soup," I offer my aunt.

Neytiri shakes her head a little but finally tells me to go fast. Miles is out the door the second she does.

"Are you okay?" I ask him trying not to laugh.

He's walking fast.

"She just gives me the creeps," he says and shivers for a second, which makes me laugh.

He doesn't say anything and he keeps walking.

We get the things and go back with my family, everyone's here except for Lo'ak.

"He went out with Tsireya, they've been gone all morning," Neteyam tells us mockingly.

"I just hope they're not doing something stupid," Jake murmurs rubbing his face.

"Is Lo'ak going to get in trouble?" Tuk asks sitting around the fire with the rest of us.

"Let's hope not," Neytiri replies to her.

"Okay, everyone grab your plate and I'll start serving," Neytiri announces.

Neteyam is the first one in line, I let all my cousins go first and Miles, Jake and me last.

Kiri grumbles when she goes back to her place with the plate. Neytiri and Jake turn to look at each other with the same confused look. Jake shakes his head and Neytiri nods to Kiri, they start communicating with their eyes until Neytiri wins and Jakes sighs.

"Everything okay baby girl?" He asks Kiri. She grumbles again.

"She's mad," Tuk says.

I pinch miles because I know he's about to make some sort of joke and no one will appreciate it.

"Something wrong with your soup?" Neytiri asks her. Neteyam's eyes widen and he takes a big spoonful of soup, Jake too.

"Why would there be something wrong with my stupid soup?" Kiri asks.

"Hey! Don't talk to your mother like that," Jake tells her.

"I thought maybe at least YOU would say something about it!" Kiri reproaches Miles, he almost choked on his food.

"What do you have to do with my daughter?" Jake asks him furiously.

Miles gulps and shakes his head.

"I have no idea, she never speaks to me. I really don't know," Miles explains mostly looking at Neytiri.

"Not to me, you idiot!" Kiri explodes. "About Spider! where is he?" she asks.

I furrow my brows trying to remember.

"I-I don't know," Miles says.

"Exactly! no one here gives a shit about him, not even you! You are a terrible father" Kiri sasys and storms out of the pod.

"Kiri!" Jake and Neytiri call her.

Miles puts his plate down and tries to act calm but I know that hurt him.

"I apologize for her," Neytiri says.

"I'll go talk to her," Jake says walking out.

"I saw Spider in the morning and when everyone came back from hunting," Tuk says.

"Yeah, I saw him too. He must be around," Neteyam says.

"She's right... I never know where he goes to," Miles whispers.

"Hey, love. It's not your fault," I tell him as I gently rub his arm.

"Sometimes he likes wandering off alone," Neteyam says.
