Chapter 30

Penelope's POV

Two weeks later

"Harrison. Get up." I tell him as he laid in my bed asleep.

"Why?" He mumbles as I sit up. His eyes were still closed.

"Because my dad is dropping the kids back in 10 minutes." I tell him.

"What time is it?"

"8am." I say and he sighs. "Its sunday. Why cant we sleep."

"Well next time do not stay up all night?" I tell him as he chuckles opening his eyes. He pulls me in closer kissing me. "You kept me up all night."

"So you're complaining?" I ask as he tickles me making me scream out. "Never." He says kissing me again.

My dad had the kids yesterday with his girlfriend Robyn. I hear the doorbell and a message from my housekeeper.

"Shit." I say looking at my phone.

"Whats your deal? Your dad will find out eventually?"

"Just not now? I can't deal with it..." I tell him. My dad and I finally got on better. Ever since, he is just happier and so proud of me. For being independent and having a job. I just didnt want to disappoint.

"I need to speak with him and just rip off the band aid." I say. "No more surprises."

"No more surprises." He says staring out. He was a little distracted.

I get up and put my robe on to meet my dad downstairs. Harrison pulls me back. "Tell me when the coast is clear." He kisses my lips making me chuckle.

"Hi dad." I say walking down the stairs.

"Mommy. Look!" Riley says showing me his balloon. "Grandad got me a balloon!"

"They seen it and wanted it." My dad chuckles kissing my cheek.

"I love you, thanks for having them last night."

"Thanks for letting me have my grandkids." He chuckles. "Where is Robyn?" I ask. "You want breakfast?"

"No, shes just outside on the phone. Her son had a problem."

"Who? Ronnie?" I ask and he nods. "He has a tendency to commit crimes."

"Tendency?" I chuckle kissing Ruby's face.

"Why is Harrison's porsche outside?" He asks. "He has a customized one its not like others have it."

"I borrowed it?" I say.

"Penelope."

"Its technically my car." I say. "He got it for me when Ruby was born. The only time I use it when I do not have the kids."

"Penelope." He says again.

"Okay. We got back together." I say. "I didnt lie about the car. It was technically mine."

"Oh good God." He says.

"Does he know?" He then asks me. "About your big plan?"

"Its not that big of a plan? Just helping a friend?" I say and he chuckles. "I just do not want your career to stop. Your goals. He has a tendency to hold you back."

"I wont." I say and he just nods. "Just need you to be happy."

"I love you." I say hugging him. "I love you too. Bye kids. Tell Harrison I said bye."

"Will do." I say.

"Come on." I say picking up Ruby and taking Riley's hand walking up the stairs.

"Oh Rue youre getting heavy." I say as I open the bedroom door. Harrison had fallen asleep again. "Go wake him up." I say watching Riley's screams as they climb the bed. I help Ruby out as Harrison wakes up tickling the kids as their screams and giggles fill the house.
