Chapter 24: What he did

Vanoss POV

I step out of the bathroom, I look around, I hate going in public, couldn't we just meet at our base? I start walking over to the table. I look around the restaurant, There are a lot of people here today. I see our table, I see Lui up and talking to someone next to him, it's him... Wildcat.  He's still as beautiful as I remember.. NO, I am not here because of that, well, maybe a little. 

I walk to the table and sit in my designated seat, The table goes quiet, "Looks like everyone's here can we stop fucking around and order?" I say looking around for a waiter.

Wildcat POV

I look at Vanoss, he's still got the same old tough guy demeanor when we're out in public, never changes. Kade leans down besides me and scoots my chair closer to him, I don't see how this could end up turning into something bad, but I've been wrong before. "I agree" Kade says, he snaps his fingers and from the back room I see a waiter emerge with a notepad in hand. "Hello, hope you guys are having a great day today, here are some menus and let's start off by getting some drink orders" The waiter says.

She hands out menus to everyone at the table, I lean over to Kade "Are you planning on drinking today?" I whisper to him, "I get drunk off you everytime I'm with you, but no, we have a meeting with the senate after this" Kade whispers back, he kisses my cheek. "I want a root beer" Lui says, "I'll take the mimosa" Moo says, "Mimosa? What kind of man orders a fruity drink?" Vanoss asks. "HEY, those fruity drinks fuck you up just as much as the others" Moo defends.

"Bourbon, chilled" Vanoss asks the waiter, Kade leans over to me "That masculinity is showing it's cracks right now" Kade jokes. I roll my eyes, "I'll take a sweet tea, and he'll take the arnold palmer" I request. The waiter writes down our order, "Ok thank you, I'll be back with your drinks and to take your food orders" The waiter leaves. "Well this is nice, so Lui, what was the whole thing about me leaving?" I ask.

Vanoss POV

I look over to Lui, What is he talking about?  "Yeah the day after, Vanoss announced that you had left" Lui says. Aw shit, Wildcat tilts his head in confusion, "That's not wha-" I interrupt him, "We're not here for that" I say. Lui turns to me and hangs his head, "Sorry" Lui says, "What do you mean we're not here for that? What are we here for then?" Wildcat asks. The waiter comes back, and gives Wildcat, Lui, and Moo their drinks, while another server gives me and Kade ours. 

"Ok what would you guys like to order today?" The waiter asks, "I want the strawberry french toast, with a lot of whipped cream" Kade orders handing back his menu, "I'll take the same with a normal amount of whipped cream" Wildcat says handing back his menu. They're gross, really don't have to do that here, "I want the crepes, and Lui will take the chocolate chip puncakes..Pancakes, I meant pancakes" Moo says, him and Lui handing back their menus. 

"Are you going to order something Vanoss?" Kade asks, he looks at me with a small smile, What a condescending asshole, how could Wildcat be with someone like this? I glare at him, "Not hungry" I respond. 

Wildcat POV

"You know what they say about men who drink whiskey in the morning" Kade says, "They kill people who talk shit" Vanoss says. I sigh and stir my drink, "Moo, why would you invite us here when he's here?" I ask, Vanoss turns his attention to Moo then back to me, "Moo didn't invite you here, I did" Vanoss says. I stare at him, Why would Vanoss invite us here? I surely have nothing to offer him, why would he call me here?

I lean back in my chair and grab hold on Kade's hand, holding it in my lap. This entire situation is concerning for me, "You.. invited us here?" I ask to Vanoss, he looks to Kade then back at me "No, I planned only talking to you but apparently some people don't trust me alone with you, so this was the only option I had" Vanoss says, motioning to the other people at the table. I look down at Kade's hand, I rub his palm trying to comfort myself.  He wanted to see me alone, by myself, just me and Vanoss, the last time it was just us he...
