i don't like a gold rush, gold rush / i don't like anticipating my face in a red flush

A gold record was a big deal. Elevate was the first Big Time Rush album to sell 500,000 copies in the U.S. and qualify them for the coveted award. The only problem was that Griffin had only gotten them one copy. And James was not having any of it. Gustavo, too, had already saved a spot for it on the wall with his others.

James and Carlos fought- quite literally- to keep it for themselves. Kit, who had attended for moral support, watched from the back of the room as the final photo op captured the chaotic scene of Logan, Kendall, and Gustavo all trying to keep Carlos and James from stealing the record from Gustavo's hands. She shot them all a sarcastic thumbs-up.

They argued about it all the way home. Kit soon learned that James and Carlos had assumed they would keep it and would not accept anything less. She already knew that James would want it, given that it was on his 'things to do before I turn 20' list and, more recently, saved a spot for a 'Gold Record Collection' on the wall in the crib. Carlos simply wanted to play it so he could hear Big Time Rush "in gold." So, she was doing her best to talk the two of them down from breaking into the studio. She had just left them to sulk momentarily on the couch, going to the lobby to buy them snacks as a distraction, when the silence was broken.

Kendall rushed into the crib, eyes wide. As he shut the door behind him, he exclaimed: "I forgot Jo's birthday!"

Logan sat at the counter, shutting his laptop at the news. He raised his eyebrows, "How could you forget your girlfriend's birthday?"

"I thought it was the 23rd but it's the 21st," Kendall stepped towards him. "23rd, 21st– they rhyme!"

Logan shook his head, "They don't rhyme."

Rolling his eyes, Kendall added: "Now I can't get her gift. I was gonna get her a gold necklace, but we don't get paid until tomorrow. And right now, I only have half the money."

Pressing his palms against the counter, Logan grinned. "This looks like a job for super friend and his power card!"

Kendall knit his brow, shrugging, as Logan held up his debit card to show it off. He lowered his hand at the lackluster response.

"Okay, look," Logan offered. "I'll put half of the necklace on my debit card and you can pay me back tomorrow."

Kendall breathed a sigh of relief, "Oh, thank you, buddy."

"No," he corrected. "Thank you, super friend."

Kendall blinked at him. Logan, undeterred, rose to his feet. He turned to check in on James and Carlos, who were still pouting on the couch.

"Now," he said. "Does anyone else need super friend's help?"

Carlos sighed. "We'll be fine."

"We're almost done sulking because we didn't get our gold record," James added.

"Carry on," Logan and Kendall offered them smiles. "Friendship away!"

Sighing, Kendall followed reluctantly behind. "Please, don't do that in the store!"

Logan seemed not to hear him, as he lifted his fingers in the air to form a pistol, yelling: "Wa-pow!"

Kendall popped open the jewelry box to show it off once more. He set it down on the countertop.

"Dude," he said. "I cannot thank you enough. Jo is going to love this!"
