❝we could be the greatest team that the world has ever seen / you and me got a whole lot of history / so don't let it go, we can make some more / we can live forever❞

Rocque Records held a party to celebrate the launch of Big Time Rush's third studio album. The studio had been decorated for the occasion and the group dressed up for the occasion. Kit, Katie, and Mrs. Knight tagged along. It was the first time in ages that Kit had seen her sister wear a dress. She had even come to her for help with make-up.

Kit stood with the band and Kelly as Gustavo gave a speech to the room:

"And I want to congratulate Big Time Rush on their brand-new studio album, Get Up!"

Abdul gestured to the album cover which had been brought in as part of the decorations. It hung on a stylized modern white wall, along with their first two albums. The room erupted into cheers and applause. Kendall pulled his mother and sister in for a brief hug.

"Which I'm sure is going to get up the charts," Griffin added. "And get up our profits at RCM/CBT GlobalNet/Sanyoid."

Kendall couldn't hide his grin as he gestured to their albums. "I cannot believe we've already done three albums."

Logan lifted his glass of punch as he spoke. "It seems like just yesterday we were playing hockey in Minnesota."

"But it wasn't yesterday," Carlos shook his head.

His eyes widened. Leaning in to Logan, he asked. "Wait. Or was it?"

The others slowly turned to look at him, confused.

"No, bub," Kit told him.

"Yeah," James added. "And who knows what Big Time Things tomorrow will bring."

He lifted his glass up, "Cheers."

The five shared in a brief toast.

Griffin handed off his own glass to a waiter as he approached them.

"Glad you asked," he said. "Because it's time for BTR's next phase: the Breakout."

Kit's eyes widened. She didn't want to think about who would be their Justin Timberlake or Nick Carter; Big Time Rush wasn't *NSYNC, and they weren't Backstreet. They were friends before anything else... Right?

Kendall blinked, confused. "Uh, break wha-"

Griffin explained. "After every boy band's third album, one member breaks out on his own and stays in the spotlight."

He held his hands up to demonstrate.

The boys looked at him confused. Kit's jaw lowered. She mentally ran the numbers. Not counting their Christmas record, *NSYNC had three albums before they broke up. Backstreet put out four albums in as many years before taking a hiatus and producing another four- in fact, their latest had come out that year. Each of Gustavo's groups, too, slowed after three. Kit's stomach dropped.

Griffin continued:

"It could be starring on Broadway-"

He pointed towards Carlos. The boy flinched as a bright spotlight shone in his eyes.

"Hosting a game show," the light moved to Logan. He glanced down at himself.

"Or," he moved on to Kendall. "Releasing a solo album."

He raised his eyebrows. "Oh."

James stood in front of Kendall, taking the spotlight.

"That's not actually gonna happen, right?"
