Light groaned in annoyance as the car stopped, slouching forwards in hopes of being shown some mercy. Alex ignored him instead as she turned off the engine. "Come on, we're here." She said simply.

She unbuckled her seatbelt before stepping out of the car, unlike Light, who continued to complain. Seeing as his efforts had gone to waste, he lazily unbuckled his own seatbelt. Alex watched as her younger brother finally stepped out, but not before groaning once more.

"If you keep complaining any longer, we'll be late for your appointment." She sighed as she locked the car. Light looked at her, a defeated look plastered on his face. He muttered something under his breath, which Alex didn't quite catch, before dragging his feet towards the sliding doors.

Alex followed after him, purse in hand. She rushed him forwards as she checked the time, slightly worried that they wouldn't make it in time. The doors slid open at the same time as the young lady at the front welcomed them in cheerfully.

While Light settled down at one of the chairs in the corner, right in front of the tv, Alex walked over to the front desk. She chatted joyfully with the receptionist, which in Light's eyes looked as if they were telling each other their life stories. Then again, his vision wasn't all that good anymore.

That was why they were at the optometrist after all. He'd recently gone to the doctor for his yearly checkup, and they'd ended up suggesting that he go get his vision checked. They'd already gone beforehand, and they'd found out that Light did indeed need glasses. They'd asked for the glasses to be made and booked another appointment. Against his own will, he'd been dragged to the optometrist by Alex once more, the older sister in her kicking in.

In his defense, he didn't feel like he needed glasses. Yea, so he couldn't see all that well when he tried to find the ramp at the skatepark. So what? Didn't everyone have that problem nowadays?

Alex shook him lightly before passing him a clipboard. He took it in his hands before skimming through it, letting out a light groan. He could be doing so many other things right now... like sleeping, or skateboarding, or even just literally anything but filling out a bunch of paperwork.

Despite his desire to pass the clipboard back to Alex and turn his attention to the show in front of him again, he began to fill out the questions. He was done in a few minutes, mostly thanks to the help of Alex.

He gave the papers back to her, completely giving his full attention to the tv once more. She stood up and walked back over to the front desk. The receptionist thanked her with a gentle smile before greeting an elderly couple who'd just walked in.

Alex settled back down beside Light before pulling out her phone, deciding to scroll through Instagram while they waited for Light to be called. On the other hand, Light had suddenly been struck by a realization. He'd just remembered that usually, they'd put these weird drops in your eyes that made your pupils dilate.

He hated them.

He could barely keep his eyes open while they tried jamming the eye drops in his eyes.

Now, he couldn't help but worry.

Oh, he hated going to the optometrist.

At first, he had just simply felt lazy. But now, he didn't wanna be here at all.

Right at that moment, one of the assistants called out his name. Both siblings perked up, one with a look on their face as if they'd just seen a ghost. Alex stood up, straightening out her light pink plaid skirt before turning back to face Light. "Come on," she said, "it's your turn."
