Another couple weeks had passed and today, Donghyuck worked alone since Jaemin had to visit his parents for the weekend. It was less fun without the younger there with him to play childish games while they waited for customers.

With this being so, the work day seemed to dread and go by slow.

Only a few customers came into the pub in the evening to order drinks, but that was it..the usual. Nothing too crazy or overwhelming and very much in fact boring.

And as for Mark, Donghyuck has seen him around a couple of times and when they encountered each other, Donghyuck did everything he could to bother the shit out of him to get under Mark's skin.

He has called the older names and even purposely messed up his order just to tick him off. But it always seemed the older had a second plan each time Donghyuck pestered him.

Fortunately for Donghyuck, it was finally time to close up the pub after he finished cleaning. He made sure to count the money in the register before leaving the pub and locking it up in his cardigan sweater.

He plugged his earbuds in his ears as he strolled down the streets into the bustling city with his black heeled boots. No one really traveled to the outskirts of South Korea because there were more popular places to go so rarely anyone were on these sidewalks.

The poorly lit up streets illuminated the darkness as he was on his way to his grandparents house with Jaemin on a face time call.

"I know I'm sorry but I'll be back on Sunday," Jaemin informed the older who huffed about how boring it would be while his best friend was gone for a couple days.

"What am I going to do while you're not at work with me?" Donghyuck whined and there were a couple people on the street who turned to look at him. However, Donghyuck gave them a sassy look and rolled his eyes.

"I don't know. Do your job, maybe?" Jaemin scoffed playfully.

Donghyuck sighed.

"At least it's your birthday tomorrow!" Jaemin tried to cheer the older up. "You'll finally know who your soulmate will be."

"I don't care because you wont even be there with me."

Donghyuck groaned as he saw something flash before his eyes, two figures running in the distance. Donghyuck tilted his head, wondering what that was all about.

"Hyuck?"

Donghyuck looked at the small device in his hand, Jaemin having concerned eyes but the oldest gave him an assuring smile.

"Sorry, I spaced out," Donghyuck answered as Jaemin hesitantly responded with a nod.

Donghyuck could hear Jaemin's parents calling him in the background so Donghyuck kept his smile.

"Go ahead, I'll be fine. Your parents need you," Donghyuck stated as Jaemin was reluctant to hang up the phone.

"They can wait a few more minute-"

"Jaemin, go. Don't keep your parents waiting," Donghyuck commanded as Jaemin sighed with distress.

"Okay, but text me as soon as you get to your grandparents. Then text me when you leave and get back home," Jaemin said, a motherly and authoritative tone emitting from his body.

"Yes, mother," Donghyuck snickered as Jaemin tsked.

They hung up the phone as Donghyuck continued his journey. The two figures that were running into the darkness a few seconds ago were running back, past Donghyuck.
