Throbbing
That was how Donghyuck's head felt. It was throbbing with pain as he groaned. He found himself in a laying position, the surface cold and hard.
With his eyes still shut, he brought his hand to cup his forehead with a wince. He felt a sharp pain shoot through the back of his neck, dropping his hand to touch it.
He felt a soft smooth padding attached to his skin. Making the mistake with putting pressure on his neck, Donghyuck hissed in pain.
Sliding his hands up to rub his eyes with the back of his palms, Donghyuck slowly fluttered his eyes open to take a look at his surroundings—very unfamiliar.
"Oh, you're awake!" A familiar higher pitched tone of excitement chirped loudly, making Donghyuck turn his head towards the sound.
There stood Chenle with a stethoscope around his neck while wearing a white lab coat buttoned down to his knees.
Donghyuck could only give a small smile in response as Chenle paddled his feet closer towards the tanned male, taking a look at the blood filled bandage on his neck.
"How are you feeling?" Chenle asked while slowly peeling the old bandage off and disinfecting the wound as well as cleaning the dry blood on Donghyuck's neck which made the older wince. "Sorry. It'll hurt for a couple more days."
"I'm feeling alright. My head is killing me though," Donghyuck stated as Chenle finished bandaging Donghyuck's neck again, the older feeling awkward with laying down so he sat up.
"I'll say," Chenle chuckled. "Can you remember what happened?"
Donghyuck paused to think for a moment.
"There was a drugged customer so I wanted to try and help sober him up but he was giving me some problems," was all Donghyuck said. He did not want to talk about the choking or anything like that.
"I see. Do you remember how you hit your head? You have a minor concussion," Chenle explained while turning his back to the older to get an ice pack again.
"I think I hit my head against the counter. That's all I remember before things turned black," Donghyuck shrugged, Chenle handing him the ice pack to put on his forehead.
Chenle scribbled something down at his desk with a nod before turning back to smile at the older.
That was when it dawned upon Donghyuck.
Where the fuck is he? And why is Chenle here as a doctor?
There was no way this was a hospital because the set up was different. And the last time he saw he saw Chenle he was with that Jisung boy at his pub on some lunch date or whatever.
Donghyuck would have never imagined Chenle to be a doctor and this was throwing him off because he was not sure how he got here either.
"I know that look," Chenle observed which pulled Donghyuck away from his thoughts. "You're confused about where you are, huh?"
Donghyuck hesitantly nodded.
"You're Chenle, right? I remember you and the Jisung person from the pub a while ago," Donghyuck pointed out as Chenle beamed, nodding his head with excitement.
"That's me! I really loved your pub too! It was so sweet and cozy in there," Chenle complimented. "Though, I wish it was not in such a dangerous spot."
"You and me both," Donghyuck snickered. Something about Chenle presence was comforting and friendly. Maybe they could be good friends.
"Are you hungry or anything? I can ask the guys to make you something to eat," Chenle suggested but Donghyuck was confused on who 'the guys' were that Chenle was referring to.
