After Donghyuck finished taking care of his grandparents, he headed back to his and Jaemin's shared apartment. His mind was racing and his heart was pounding at Mark's words.
"I'm your soulmate."
Donghyuck groaned out loud.
"Now I'm going to make your life a living hell. Bet you didn't think your little dare through now did you, angel boy?"
Donghyuck shivered at the words replaying in his mind. Were the older's words true? They can not possibly be. Mark was just pulling at his leg.
There was no way they were soulmates.
A few blocks down and Donghyuck approached the apartment building. He hiked up the stairs to the second floor and turned his door on the right, unlocking it as he entered inside and locking it shut.
Midnight was approaching and Donghyuck was anxious to find out who his soulmate was. He was about to turn twenty one in a half hour and he was scared to face the truth of his Mark being his soulmate or not.
He sent Jaemin a text that he arrived back home safely before going into the shower. When he stepped out he dried himself and slid into his plaid pants and a black t shirt before going to his room.
He slipped in bed after plugging his phone into the charge on his nightstand, dreading to look at the time as it was ten minutes to midnight.
Donghyuck laid flatly on his back, tapping his fingers along his thighs before pulling the covers over his face to yell a groan of annoyance mixed with a whine.
He forced his eyes shut, in hopes to fall asleep before midnight hit. But luck was obviously not on his side.
Feeling a burning, stinging pain on his thigh he hissed as he threw off the covers to roll up his plaid pajama pants up to his upper thigh.
His eyes were watering because of the stinging pain. It was not unbearable, but it was not comfortable either.
He reached over for his phone, flashing the light on his thigh. His tanned skin was being inked on in his right inner thigh, the name reading:
Lee Minhyung
Donghyuck's eyes widened when the noticed the name was italicized, meaning that his soulmate also has his name imprinted on their skin.
Though, after a few seconds, he let out a scoff while he rolled his eyes.
"He fucking lied. I knew it," Donghyuck told himself, feeling stupid for being afraid of having Mark's name on his skin for nothing. "He Just wanted to scare me."
The more he spoke, the more he convinced himself that Mark was not his soulmate. Mark and Minhyung are two different names.
Donghyuck should have known all along not to trust the older man.
He clicked his tongue as he shut the flashlight off and at the same time, he received a message from Jaemin wishing him a happy birthday.
Donghyuck thanked him with a smile, texting him back and feeling relief rise inside of him as he finally went to sleep with ease.
A while later, he woke up to get ready for work with in a good mood.
It was his twenty first birthday and he found out his soulmate was not Mark. Could this day get any better for him?
He brushed his teeth and got dressed in a light blue striped sweater vest over his white shirt with white pants paired with white sneaker.
His hair was neatly combed over his forehead. He sent a picture of his birthday outfit to Jaemin and the younger instantly responded, telling him how adorable and cute he looks.
