"How wouldn't I know? I'm not their hacker and the person who finds out identities/lies for no reason." He started. "I'm good at reading people," Renjun nonchalantly stated.

Donghyuck was nervous and Renjun could tell, reading the younger like an open book which the tanned male will soon grow to hate.

"We may kill others but that does not mean we always want to. It's our job to take out the evil in the country to make the world a safer place," Renjun explained. "We're not bad people, Donghyuck. Especially not Mark out of all of us."

It seemed like Renjun was trying to defend Mark and Donghyuck was confused. What exactly was Renjun trying to tell him?

"B-but you guys still hurt people," Donghyuck reasoned as Renjun pursed his lips together.

"We don't hurt and kill innocent lives if that's what you're concerned about. We risk our lives to protect the people we care about," Renjun said.

Donghyuck unintentionally pouted his lips. He strangely felt comfortable and was willing to understand the older in front of him.

"Why is Mark so mean?" Donghyuck huffed after stuffing his mouth with food, making Renjun chuckle.

"Try to understand him...he's been through a lot and when he is ready to open up to you, he will. But for now, you need to do your part," Renjun rationalized as Donghyuck wore a perplexed face.

"My part?" Donghyuck questioned as Renjun nodded.

"Your part in trying to be patient with him just as he will do the same for you."

Donghyuck scoffed, "Patient, my ass. He threatened to kill me!"

Renjun laughed out loud as he put his cup in the sink.

"He's threatened to kill all of us and we're all still here. I'm not really supposed to tell you this but he's really all talk and no bite," Renjun concluded but Donghyuck still felt uneasy about his soulmate.

Renjun seemed oddly comfortable to talk about Mark this way and Donghyuck felt scared. What if Mark was listening to this conversation? Donghyuck would be so dead.

"I-I have to get out of here or I-"

"You need to chill out," Renjun pointed out a suggestion. "I understand that you're freaked out right now but give it a chance...give him a chance."

"I'd rather sell my soul to the devil," Donghyuck said as a joke but he really did feel that way.

Renjun rolled his eyes and clicked his tongue.

"You're already here."

Donghyuck's eyes widened as Renjun bursted out laughing, pointing a finger at the younger.

"Your face!"

Donghyuck furrowed his eyebrows and crossed his arms. "It's not funny."

"Anywho," Renjun said after calming his laughter. "I hope to see you around and maybe we can become good friends."

Donghyuck found himself nodding, "me too."

Renjun left the kitchen with a smirk in victory, seemingly won Mark's soulmate over to stay at the mansion. Mark surely owes him this time.

"Wait!" Donghyuck shouted as Renjun turned around expectantly awaiting for the younger to speak.

"I-I dont know where I'm going," Donghyuck admitted, shyly fiddling with the chopsticks in his empty bowl of food.

"I'll show you to your room," Renjun stated as Donghyuck nodded appreciatively before putting his dishes in the sink and was about to wash them. "Don't worry about that. You had a long night."
