She really had been planning to talk.
But something came over her after Oliver followed her into the woods.
So instead of talking about her feelings like a normal human being, she grabbed his collar and smashed their lips together.
And she didn't regret it one bit.
He was obviously taken by surprise but he was quick to respond. He pulled her closer to him, and held her like she would disappear.
In his arms, Maia didn't have to jump between two families.
In his arms, Maia was finally knew where she belonged.
After what seemed like minutes, hours, seconds, they broke apart, gasping for air.
Oliver pressed their foreheads together.
"You don't know how long I've waited to do that."
Maia smiled, "I think I can give a fair guess."
Oliver shook his head and pulled her closer.
"I'm glad I waited." He admitted.
Maia was confused, "What do you mean?"
Oliver smiled, "Princess, when you've loved somebody for years and they still don't show any signs of feeling the same way about you, you tend to consider moving on."
Maia grabbed his big hands in her tiny ones.
"Well," She said, "I'm glad you waited."
He grinned, "Yeah?"
She nodded, "You know why?"
He shook his head.
"Because I love you, goofball."
