(3rd Person POV)

The elevators stopped moving as everyone scattered out. The misfit class looked around awestruck at the valleys and mountains surrounding them. They also noticed that they were on a floating platform. In front of them was a gate as Kalego stood at the front to address everyone,

"The first lesson is a race to the flag at the end of this valley." He pointed to the valley behind him,

"Your ranks will be determined by the familiar-summoning exam, conducted previously, along with this race. The goal is the flag that sits atop a heugh covered in mist far beyond this valley."

"Interesting..." Mania muttered to herself,

"I will now explain the course." Kalego said before snapping his fingers. A similarly adorned monitor akin to the destroyed one from the familiar summoning exam, appeared beside him. The same heart mascot appeared and began speaking,

"I will now explain the course!" The visual on screen correlated with the mascot's explanation,

"It's a bit longer, but you can take the chill, relaxing route through Warbling Valley. And then there's the Cutthroat Valley course! There are lots of dangers and traps along the way! Beware of the countless mountains and the demon birds that are trying to protect their nests!" Kalego looked visibly annoyed at the mascot's talking,

"So Cutthroat Valley is shorter, but more deadly..." Mania muttered to herself,

"Okay, then! Let's g—" Kalego once again knocked the monitor to the ground,

"And he still hates it." Kokichi chuckled a little. Kalego kicked the monitor aside before clearing his throat,

"That's it for the explanation." A sudden chuckle filled the air as everyone looked towards Mondo,

"The best way to go is obviously the damn Cutthroat Valley! Then I'll reach Yodh in no time and become the new demon king." He muttered the last sentence before Kalego suddenly chimed in,

"The only option this year is to go through Warbling Valley." Mondo was taken aback,

"How come...?" Chihiro asked Kalego,

"For some reason, the guardian of Cutthroat Valley has been... moody lately. That's why no one may enter it. We can't guarantee your safety if you run into it." Mondo growled before snapping,

"I'm going through Cutthroat Valley! There's no fucking point otherwise!" Kalego scoffed,

"Who cares?" The gates then opened as Kalego raised his arm,

"All of you, get ready." Mania watched as her classmates sprouted their wings. She took a step back, considering she didn't have wings. She watched everyone stretch their wings as Kalego spoke again,

"We will now begin the flying race." Everyone got into a racing position,

"Ready...

...

...

...go!" In an instant the entire class zoomed past the gates and into the valley. Mania was left in speechless awe as she ran to the edge to watch everyone leave,

"Woah..." she then looked down noticing a very steep fall,

"Hm..." she tapped her chin, analyzing what could be the best option for going down,

"Get moving." Kalego said behind her, suddenly shoving her off the edge,

"Wha!? You bitch!!" Mania shouted before she fell. In a panic Mania quickly pulled out a sticky note she prepared in advance from her pocket. She pricked her skin with her nail before sticking the sticky onto her arm,
