(3rd Person POV)

It was finally the day of the Execution Cannonball promotion exam. Phoebe was nervous, but she was confident after all of her training. She pat her face as she looked in the mirror,

"I've got this! Moon helped me so much, I don't wanna disappoint him." She told herself, cleaning out her damaged eye and putting on a fresh eyepatch. She smiled confidently before she grabbed her bag,

"Bye bye Mama!"

"Good luck Phoebe." Iridiana waved goodbye to Phoebe as she flew down the path to Babyls.

The misfit class stood huddled together, facing the steps. In front of them was Kalego who held a ball in his hands. Phoebe could hear the group mumbling with one another, talking about prospects of victory and the like,

"Silence." Kalego then said. Everyone stopped talking and looked at him,

"Let's go over the rules." Kalego then, with great reluctance, snapped his fingers as another monitor with the heart mascot appeared,

"A super easy execution cannonball explanation!" The screen changed according to the rules in order. "One: each team should have one person outside the field. Two: everyone should lose will be within the field. Three: those hit by the ball must exit the field. You can continue to attack from outside the field, but please note: even if you hit someone, you cannot return to the field. Four: you may only use magic on the ball. You may not attach your opponent with magic directly. Okay, let's all pla— Ow!" Kalego grabbed the monitor and threw it to the ground,

"Why does he still tolerate that thing?" Mania questioned within the crowd,

"Beats me." Hiro chuckled a little,

"That basically sums it up." Kalego stated, "Your promotions will be determined by which team wins, and the ranks of the opponents you hit." He then took out a box and opened it. Inside was two stacks of arm bands, one stack yellow, the other red,

"I will now hand out arm bands for Teams A and B." Kalego declared, "Team A is yellow, and Team B is red." He took a yellow arm band out and held it up as everyone stood in a line,

"Once you put them on, split up on the court."

"Okay!" Everyone droned. Kalego then began handing out the arm bands, in seemingly random order. However, in actuality, Kalego was dividing the team up as evenly as he could. There was only one minor issue: the class had 13 students. So naturally the teams would be uneven.

In any case, the teams had been formed:
Team A - Phoebe, Mondo, Kiyotaka, Kokichi, Ibuki, Chihiro, and Hiro
Team B - Gundham, Mania, Kazuichi, Gonta, Miu, and Leon

Phoebe observed her team. She was rather annoyed at the instant disadvantages. Mondo and Kiyotaka despise each other, so they would often be butting heads against one another. Kokichi and Ibuki's magic is definitely the most useful, but Chihiro and Hiro were essentially dead weight,

"How is this any fair!?" Phoebe asked Kalego annoyed,

"You have one extra teammate, be grateful I did my best to make the teams equal." Kalego sneered in reply. Noticing Mania snicker at her, Phoebe huffed,

"No matter. I can still win this!" She thought. She looked at her team. She had to take the lead, and her start was to figure out who would be outside the court. Of course, she thought of only one demon.

"Hiro!"

"Y-Yeah?!" Hiro flinched surprised,

"You can stand on the outside." Phoebe told him with a smile. Hiro seemed hesitant but moved to the outside. Phoebe then looked over at Kiyotaka and Mondo, who were quietly arguing,
