Steve's Pov

I felt like it all was happening in slow motion.

I ran in.

It was on top of him.

The bat was there.

Nancy was shooting at it.

It turned to look at her.

She ran out of bullets.

I picked up the bat.

I stood in front of her.

I swung.

"Steve!"

I swung one hit after another. It tried to hit me back, but I dodged it and hit it again. All for Sofie. She couldn't lose one more person.

"You're an idiot, Steve Harrington." She laughed.

Hit.

"You're not that bad."

Swing.

"Have I ever told you about how much I love the stars?"

Hit.

"Aw, you think I'm pretty?" She teased.

"It's in the trap!"

"Jonathan, it's in the trap!"

Jonathan ran towards us, pulled out a lighter and threw it towards the gasoline drenched carpet. We watched the monster struggle within the flames. After about a minute, Jonathan pulled out a fire extinguisher and put out the fire. But, the monster was gone.

One of the lights down the hall flicked on. I pulled up the bat ready to swing, but nothing happened. Another light turned on. Then another, and another, and another, and another. We followed it all the way outside.

"Where is it going?" I asked.

"I don't think that's the monster." Jonathan whispered.

"So then if that's not the monster, where is it?" Nancy asked.

"I don't know, but I do know one thing. We have to go get the kids."

Sofie's Pov

I tried to use my powers, but I was just too weak.

"Guys, I can't do it!"

"Lucas! Shoot it!"

"Hurry! Shoot it!"

The monster was coming towards us. I felt so helpless. We were going to die, and it was all my fault.

Don't give up, Sofie.

Keep fighting, Sofie.

Be brave.

Be strong.

Fight.

I felt myself feel stronger. I stood up behind the boys. I looked at the monster and focused on it. I lifted my arm up and pushed it back. I held it there. I put all energy I had left in me, to push it back and hold it there. I felt a big weight being lifted off my mind and body.

"That's enough, Sofie." It was Eleven.

"Eleven, you can't do this by yourself!"

"Stay back."

"El-" I flew back. She had thrown me back with her powers.

I watched her walk towards it.

"Eleven, stop!" This time it was Mike.
