"What, are you mad this time?" I asked. Hours back, Prince rushed off the stage after performing this fun but chaotic rendition of "Baby, I'm A Star." Audience members grooved onstage, but I could only imagine what then crossed his mind.

I'm not upset about the performance." Prince folded both arms, shirtless while sweating in front of me. If given a chance, he might've dared to look like this. I rolled my eyes at the idea. Press and channels would burst headlines without fail.

One more slightly golden cross almost swung like a metronome around his neck. Underneath dim lights here, those dark curls fell out of place. All around me, this very instance quickly turned silent, but of course I continued waiting for him.

Despite winning three deserved Grammy Awards, Prince somehow ended up frowning towards me. Meanwhile, I couldn't be rude at this point. no matter how fragile our emotions seem to be right now. My heart kept racing, but dropped all at once.

"What's your problem?" I asked, surely frustrated now. We bonded so well since the American Music Awards took place weeks earlier. What the hell just changed between us? Even my thoughts jumbled.

Before I could say anything else, Prince walked into the living room and turned on the television, switching channels until one media show played out countless spiels. This bright-eyed news anchor spoke up, beaming to describe the next story:

"Has the newest power couple emerged? insiders allegedly claim that renowned singer and musician El Debarge might be crushing on showbiz reporter Rochelle Davis. Spotted together among pals to celebrate Motown founder Berry Gordy, smiles were blinding."

Joyous pictures flashed across this television screen as the reporter's cheerful voice over dubbed over. I then smiled to remember that great occasion, especially when seeing Diana Ross hug El and immediately snapped that lovely photo.

Yet, Prince kept scowling and his pout wouldn't let up.

"What? El invited me out and we've respected Motown. I take pictures all the time too. You know damn-well that press outlets always make shit up. Don't start bugging." I defended myself once Prince had turned off that television.
