You sat inside the palanquin. Inside the small box you feel oddly at peace, like you are inside your own world. You can hear the rustling of dried leaves outside, autumn has covered the land and it will not take long until winter snatches the remnants left by spring.
As you sat inside, you took out a box. Opening it, you look at the white handkerchief with the Uchiha Clan crest embroidered in the middle. You had finished embroidering the crest but it still looks like it lacks something.
"Sakura petals would suit the crest," you muttered, taking the handkerchief to admire it even closer.
Then you heard a soft knock on your palanquin. It was your older brother who used the hilt of his sword to knock before you opened the small window.
"Onii-sama," you said as Tobirama looked at you.
"Isn't it suffocating inside? At least open the window and let the fresh air in."
Even if he said that so casually, what he said might have been different from what he meant because when you looked past him, you saw the most dazzling sight in the forest. He didn't tell you to open the window to let the fresh air in, he wanted to show you the beauty this forest holds.
The maidenhair trees, with their yellow leaves, had decorated the forest floor in a sea of gold. Your eyes reflected the sight as your heart felt a certain warmth spreading in your chest.
"So pretty," you muttered, letting your hand out as the dried leaves falling from the maidenhair trees graze your palm.
"It's so beautiful, onii-sama," you said, your smile widening as you let out a soft chuckle.
Tobirama looked at you before he noticed the handkerchief you were holding, bearing the Uchiha Clan crest, and his expression changed. Although you didn't notice.
"Are you going to give that handkerchief as a gift?" he asked and you tore your eyes from the ethereal sight to look at your older brother.
"No, why would I?"
"Why would you not? You definitely should give that to Madara."
"Onii-sama," you said, pursing your lips as you furrowed your brows. "We all know what it means to give a handkerchief as a gift to someone who's going to get married."
If you give this to Uchiha Madara, it's like telling him that your relationship with him would end even before it starts. It was never good to give a handkerchief as a gift to weddings, because it's always accompanied by the thought of severing a relationship.
