You were having a dream. It was the sky, bathed in the glorious afternoon sun, golden in color and tinted in orange and purple hue.
In your dream, you were looking not in the afterglow or the afternoon sky but at the messenger hawk that Madara had gifted to you. The hawk you named Haru, in remembrance of the spring that brought such good news to you.
You look at the hawk flying farther and farther into the sunset, carrying the letter you had written for your brothers in hope that they will also share the same happiness that the little blessing growing inside you had brought.
You watch Haru fly as she disappears into the vast nirvana. In a blink of an eye, the afternoon sky turned dark and night veiled in. You were no longer looking at the glorious afternoon sun. The full moon now illuminated the night sky.
In the distance, you saw the hawk flying back towards you and in that moment in your dream, you felt happy as you smiled.
Only for that happiness to disappear much too quickly as you watch the hawk spiral down until it landed on the ground right in front of you, two arrows protruding from its back and one of its wings. Blood started to pool around the hawk and you fell on your knees.
"Haru..." you muttered in your dream as your vision blurred while you slowly picked up the hawk. "No...Haru..."
And then you jolted awake, a tear ran down your eye as your vision focused into reality, with the dream lingering in your mind as you stared at the ceiling.
It's still dark outside, barely dawn. The dream still lingered and the feeling that it brought along with it as you tried to calm yourself, telling yourself it's alright, it's just a dream. By now, Haru might have already gotten to your brother, Hashirama will surely take care of her, give her water, food, and a warm place to rest after flying for a while.
But what if, you thought to yourself. What if it wasn't just a dream but a warning?
You felt a shiver run down your spine and you rolled to your side where you saw Madara, sleeping soundly. He's lying on his side, facing you.
You wonder if it's the first time you have ever woken up while he's still asleep. Madara would often wake up before you do.
