I've finally made it to this chapter.. Hwang my baby

I'm nervous to post this, tho.

Hwang leaned against me with all his weight as we stumbled into the private elevator

Hwang leaned against me with all his weight as we stumbled into the private elevator. I dumped him against the brass railing that was mounted against mirrors so I could push on the up button. The box jerked upwards, sending Hwang right back at me. The alcohol wafted in my face as he looked at me with a dazed smile. His face was flushed, and his eyes droopy, staring at me weirdly.

"You know," he began with one arm draped over my shoulders to keep him from kissing the ground. "You will be the first to see my apartment. Well, except for my realtor, but that doesn't count," Hwang lisped, making it difficult for me to understand what he was saying. "Okay, you will be the first to see my home, not an empty apartment that got sold to me."

I kept my words to myself, not sure how to respond to that. The only question that repeatedly banged inside my head, was why he was so piss-drunk. I'd never seen him go this far, and I have witnessed a fair share of embarrassment on his part.

The door pinged open, breaking my trail of thoughts. I was back on duty to drag his ass out. He trusted me way too much with this. Luckily, because the elevator was his personal one, it opened in his foyer, so I didn't need to force him through the hallway with the panic of getting seen by a neighbor.

The first furniture I could find I dropped Hwang in. It was a large sunken couch stretched through the living area. He babbled something with his face in a cushion, not caring he should lift his head to communicate properly.

There was still anger left in me after what happened in the club. I tried to cool down in the car, knowing kicking his ass while he was drunk wasn't fair play, but he made it extremely difficult for me to not throw him out of a moving vehicle.

With the simmering emotions running beneath my skin, I took in his home. I had to do it with one single light burning next to the couch, and the twinkling lights coming from the city. But even with bright daylight, it wouldn't change my opinion that much. The apartment was... empty? It felt like he just moved in and removed the white covers from his furniture but hadn't taken the time to unbox his personal stuff.

I wasn't the best person to ask who Hwang was—I was his enemy after all—but this place didn't reflect him at all. If someone would tell me he'd never set foot here, I would believe them. But I knew that wasn't true, he bought this penthouse around the same time I got mine.

An indistinctive mumble stopped me from assessing the place. I turned to my right to watch Hwang trying to break free from the softness of the couch that kept him hostage. He huffed, annoyed with a cushion and threw it away, then locked his elbows to keep himself upright. His hair was wild, covering his face, still, I knew Hwang was looking at me through the blond curtains.
