Two hours in.
Dissonant laughter, slurred mumblings, and fizzy hiccups could be heard all around me.
We all sat, huddled up close together, in a messy, lazy circle on the soft, pillowy surface of my bed. Miraculously, we could all fit on top, but even more miraculously, the bedframe could support the weight of seven different bodies, all laying on top of it at once. The night had gone on, and luckily, no bones or pieces of furniture were broken, but a lot of quiet chaos had ensued.
I sat, upright, in the far corner of the bed, on the pillows that stacked up against the wooden headboard, Ari's head resting in my lap. He laid there, peacefully, on the mattress, his body extending from one end to the other, his feet lounging snugly right next to Rian. Rian sat upwards, his legs crossed politely, the most behaved and composed of the group; Eden to his left, who sat with her legs extended and her arms behind her to support her back, Torrence to her left, lying down with his head on Eden's thighs, his legs hanging over the edge of the mattress. And lastly, Levi and Harley sat beside me; Harley with his back against the headboard and his arms snuggled tightly around Levi, who laid back comfortably with his head in Harley's chest, his legs folded inward, and his feet fumbling with Eden's. They seemed to be playing some drunken game of footsies.
None of us seemed to care about how close we were to one another and how open and exposed we presented ourselves. We were a family; one that didn't judge or fight. We could just be ourselves and not care about how awkward or how intimate the setting was. If we all fell asleep, right here, right now, it wouldn't bother a single one of us. We could even cuddle all night and it wouldn't disturb us.
Or... maybe that's just my drunken thoughts spiraling.
"Torrence, your turn," I pointed to the Shiba who sat across from me. Torrence rubbed his eyes and sat up, staring at each of us individually, carefully deciding who to choose as the next victim for our very tipsy game of... "Harley. Truth or dare."
Harley laughed and tried to sit up further, but was unable to move with Levi almost half-asleep in his arms. "Uhh... Dare, I guess."
"Ugh, no one's picking truth!" Eden whined, unable to pronounce her words correctly. She was smaller than the rest of us, so the vodka got to her head the quickest and the heaviest. "I wa... I want... I want tea! Gossip!"
Torrence scoffed and continued with the game. "I dare you to give—" hic! "—Rian a lap dance."
"Oh, fuck yeah," Harley practically orgasmed on the spot, carefully grabbing Levi by the shoulders and placing him aside. Levi instantly woke back up and began to whimper, longing to be held by Harley again. I gently pet his head.
"Jesus Christ..." Rian sighed, his head collapsing into his hands as Harley stood up on the bed and made his short, wobbly trek over to Rian, almost losing his footing and falling over in the process.
"Oh, you... you knooow you want thhhissss," Harley tried his best to act smooth, but was stumbling all over the place with his words, making Eden and I crack up with laughter.
"Uh-oh, what have I done?" Torrence laughed, catching his breath as Harley turned around, facing Rian, ass-first, and began to slowly squat downward, one fist in the air and another against his hip. Eden was practically squealing with laughter, watching it all take place right beside her. Ari covered his face with his hands, so caught up in second-hand embarrassment that he was unable to watch.
Rian tried his best to escape, but with his normal ability to perceive the world around him impaired by the alcohol, all he could really do was stumble and crawl backwards. Harley inched closer and closer with his butt to Rian's face, making Rian more and more desperate to flee, but he had backed himself into a corner, blocked by the bed's footboard, and was now trapped.
