When Annabelle was eight she got her first family. They were a sweet couple who had other children. Annabelle said goodbye to the orphanage and happily got into the car even though their house was only five minutes away. Annabelle was the second oldest, her new sister asked about her.
"I'm an only child and I never met my parents. I love to read and sometimes write. I love to watch the TV."
"We don't have a TV. But we do have books." She smiled.
"Why don't you have a TV?" Annabelle was shocked.
"Mother told us it is bad to watch it, we have to read for two hours everyday and after school father teaches us more."
Annabelle spent three days trying to blend in and be like the other children. She tired to follow the routine but it wasn't for her. On day four she packed her things at midnight and left leaving a note saying that she tried but this family was not for her. She placed the note on the dining table and walked out of the door. She made her way back to the orphanage and went to her room that had not yet been filled with another child. The next morning she went to breakfast and Mrs Dunton asked her what she was doing here and she told them what had happened. Mrs Dunton contacted the family and they said that if that is what Annabelle wanted that they were happy.
