Emily, 28
Lauren Reynolds Created

She was packing for the millionth time, looking through her stuff and just trying to memorise everything the way her apartment look, the smell of her books clothes, and jewelry she will not be Emily Prentiss anymore she can't own all of those things so she'll leave everything behind. her stuff her memories that's a part of the job she told to herself, she have been assigned to an undercover operation, "you are running away" she thought to herself

She was ashamed at first but now she thought since everyone else can leave and move on why can't she? So she is packing she is leaving, leaving everything behind leaving him behind. He moved on and she prayed she'll be able to do the same.

Month before

It's been one year since Emily was tapped to Join JTF-12, she missed feeling like she belonged somewhere again, she loved her team Clyde Easter, Sean McAllister Tsia Mosely and Jeremy Wolff they were all close and specialized in profiling terrorists and help in their apprehension and it wasn't long before they had another mission, and Clyde who was their lead wanted to talk to Emily "you wanted to see me?" Emily asked as she was walking into his office she saw the rest of the team was already there sitting

"yes, please sit" he answered Emily was still standing she was scared why does he want to talk to her while everyone else is there? it seemed like Clyde read her mind he was good at that he sighed when he saw she chose to keep standing, stressed

"don't worry nothing bad happened" he said smiling at her "the others had already been informed that's why they are here" he added looking at her, Emily who was still suspicious slowly took her seat next to Sean who gave her a reassuring smile

"informed about what?" She wasn't stupid she saw the way they exchanged glances, they profiled terrorists for a living but she could read them too they seemed tense and Tisa avoided looking at her which she never did, Emily felt like someone died

"are you going to start talking? I'm getting pretty impatient" she said, her arms crossed she was stressed "you are right Emily, well we have a mission" he said getting into a more serious mood

"his name is Ian Doyle" he said putting in front of her his pictures, "he's a terrorist of Irish descent, we need to profile him and his organisation" he continued Emily raised her eyebrows giving him her sign to continue "okay and? I bet there's more to that because Tisa keeps avoiding my eyes and Jeremy is uncharacteristically quiet" she was stressed now and feared she'll start picking her nails if they kept being so mysterious "you are right" Clyde said

"for that mission we need someone from inside, someone who will get close to Doyle find more about him, his weaknesses and about Valhalla" he said looking directly into her eyes Emily wasn't stupid she knew what he wanted and now understood why everyone looked like they just came back from a funeral

"and you want that someone to be me" she didn't know how she felt she was honoured to be trusted with something this big but she was scared this is spying, he wants her to be a spy.
she never did anything like that

"Doyle is like a ghost we barely know anything about him but we do know you fits his type Em" it was Sean turn to speak this time he looked at her she turned to look at Tisa and this time Tisa looked at her back they made eye contact for a brief second but Emily already saw the concern in her eyes, Emily gave her half a smile

"also your knowledge in languages can be very beneficial especially your French" Clyde added Emily nodded not looking at him "I don't know, I never did anything like this I need time to think about it, I know this is important but I need time" she said, the room was so tense she hated that she sighed

"and it'll be nice if you would stop looking at me like you are planing my upcoming funeral" she said jokingly it made them all laugh the tension eased and Tisa finally looked at her fully smiling, Emily was good at making them feel at ease with her humour and personality Tisa finally spoke

"just so you know Emily we are in this too, we have your back you won't be there alone" Emily was thankful for her saying that

"and if we are planning any funeral it'll be for us all" Jeremy added with his smile, that made her laugh she loved them and she will think about it

"he is right Emily, you just think about it" Clyde spoke giving her a warm smile Emily nodded giving them all one last smile and left.

A week later
Emily was meeting her mother today she didn't want to but she haven't seen her in months and she just wanted to get over with it.
when Emily left the restaurant after her meeting with her mother she felt so overwhelmed, she had a hard time processing all of the emotions, it was a normal meeting with her mother at first where she was talking about herself about her work and how she feels about Emily's

"it just isn't you" she told her, Emily found it funny how the hell does she knows who she is, she was never there she didn't even know her, but she of course didn't say that out loud she just nodded and kept looking at her untouched meal. then for some reason her mother asked her about Aaron maybe it was because Elizabeth was not used to Emily not asking her about him first,

"have you heard from agent Hotchner recently?" She asked raising her eyebrows Emily was so shocked why would she ask that?

"No I didn't why would I?" she answered looking at her slightly confused "I heard he joined the BAU years ago" her mother stated Emily stopped checking up on him but she was happy he managed to do what he always wanted

"he's now engaged" her mother said casually and took a sip from her wine "I thought you were close so I guessed you are still in touch"

Emily was absolutely stunned, she didn't even acknowledge the fact that her mother basically admitted to know about them, she was busy thinking about the fact that he's getting married When did that happen has it been that long? She felt numb and nauseous she didn't let how she feels inside reflecte on her face

"that's nice I'm happy for him" she said finishing the rest of her wine in one sip, Emily was now angry how could he replace her how could Haley take her place? But then she remembered- she was his high school sweetheart of course they'll eventually get married it was inevitable, Aaron and her were happy at some point they had good memories it's was time for at least one of them to move on she was happy for him, this time she truly was.
He deserved to be happy.
They were happy before and they'll be happy after, even if it's not together.

that was the night she decided she'll take the job maybe that's what she needs to move on as well, to find happiness.
