INT. CAR - EVENING
11:49 p.m.
Marty took his hand from his lap and he didn't seem to mind it that much. Even if she laced their fingers together.
They remained like that for the entire drive home, quiet, and comfortable in their own little world until he had to pull up in front of their driveway.
Harley was about to pull from her hold but Marty squeezed his hand with her brows meeting in the middle and the lower half of her face was buried on Ambee when she shook her head.
HARLEY Marty?
MARTY Ayaw ko pa bumaba.
HARLEY E baka hinahanap ka na rin. Late na rin.
MARTY Hindi naman. Wala ngang message sila Daddy kanina pa. Sabi lang ingat tayo pauwi. Kaninang 7 pa 'yon.
HARLEY Pero baka hinahanap ka pa rin nila.
MARTY Ayaw ko pa bumaba.
A smile lingered on his lips. Harley unfastened his seatbelt for a while. Mas lalo namang napasimangot si Marty do'n. She even rolled her eyes when she heard the click so she let go of his hand.
She also removed her seatbelt.
MARTY Ito na nga. Bababa na.
HARLEY Marty.
MARTY Oo. Ito na nga, e.
HARLEY Wait lang.
MARTY Ano? Bakit?
But instead of answering, Harley reached for her cheek, cupping her face in his hand. Her skin was cold, he felt that on his palm.
She was frozen in her seat, especially when he brushed his thumb along her cheek, leaning in closer to plant a kiss on top of her hair.
Marty hitched her breath.
And then she counted, one . . . two . . . three . . . four, but still, his lips remained on the same spot.
The heavy beating in her chest made her breathe twice and chew inside her inner lip. Her skin now a few degrees warmer than before. Probably from his gentle caresses, probably from his kiss, probably from the rush in her veins.
Harley pulled away and she was left in a daze. They were still so close and she could feel his warmth grazing on her skin.
HARLEY Good night, Marty. Nag-enjoy ako ngayong araw, thank you. Kung gusto mo, iuwi mo muna si Ambee sa inyo.
Umiling si Marty.
MARTY Ayaw.
HARLEY Sige, iuwi ko—
MARTY Dito ka na lang muna.
HARLEY Ha?
MARTY Late na, o? Dito ka na lang muna sa bahay. Bukas ka na lang umuwi. Ipapaalam ko.
HARLEY Okay lang ba kila Tito?
MARTY Natutulog ka na rin naman sa bahay, e. Ipapaalam ko na lang. Pagod ka na rin mag-drive ang layo pa ng bahay ninyo.
