Marty quietly transferred his remaining food in a container before washing his plate on the sink.
HARLEY
Bakit mo tinabi? Sabi ko kakainin ko pa.
MARTY
Wala. 'Wag mo na ipilit.
HARLEY
Masarap nga. Inaasar lang naman kita kanina, e.
MARTY
Okay.
She didn't say anything more, she just continued washing the plate used while he stayed beside her.
MADDIE
Harley, p'wede paabot ulit? 'Yong mga baso pati pitchel naman. Gagamitin kasi mamaya para sa fruit punch.
HARLEY
Sige, saan?
Maddie pointed at the top row on the cupboard. Si Marty naman e nagtutuyo ng kamay at paminsang napapatingin doon sa dalawa. Pinanood niya rin kung paano umalalay ang ate niya habang inaabot ni Harley 'yong mga babasagin.
She diverted her attention instead. Nagpapatulong lang naman ate niya. It's nothing. So she decided to start working on her pastillas, too.
Marty was in the middle of mixing the skimmed and condensed milk when he appeared beside her again.
HARLEY
Ano na nga ulit itutulong ko?
MARTY
Cellophane. Pagupit.
HARLEY
Okay.
They both worked silently and Harley couldn't help but check her out from time to time.
HARLEY
Gusto mo ba tulungan kita magbilog d'yan? Parang ang dami.
MARTY
'Wag na.
HARLEY
Sure? Baka matagalan ka matapos.
MARTY
Oo.
HARLEY
Ano pala gagawin ko next dito sa cellophane?
MARTY
Pa-whip ng heavy cream sa mixer.
HARLEY
Saan nakalagay mixer ninyo?
She didn't answer him. Marty just proceeded on taking the mixer from one of their drawers.
HARLEY
Ako na d'yan. Mabigat ata.
MARTY
Kaya ko.
He noticed her tone. He noticed her silence, too. She wasn't usually that way. He was tailing behind her when Marty placed the mixer on the kitchen counter.
HARLEY
Galit ka ba? Dahil doon sa pasta? Promise masarap. Sakto lang pagkakaluto mo doon sa noodles tapos hindi matabang 'yong pesto.
MARTY
Okay.
HARLEY
Marty?
MARTY
Huhugasan ko lang 'tong bowl. Pakuha ng heavy cream.
MADDIE
Harley, p'wede ba ako makisuyo sa 'yo sa tindahan? May nakalimutan pala kaming bilhin ni Mommy. 'Yong liver spread.
HARLEY
Okay, sige.
And instead of washing the bowl, Marty also proceeded to take the heavy cream she was asking of him. He trailed along her movements and Marty just remained silent.
HARLEY
Bakit ikaw kumuha? Sabi ko naman ako—
MARTY
Bilhin mo na 'yong sinasabi ni Ate.
HARLEY
Iwan mo 'to mamaya, ha? Ako na maghahalo sa mixer. Bibili lang ako sa tindahan.
She didn't say anything. But her brows were creasing when she decided to do her next chore.
HARLEY
Marty?
MARTY
Bumili ka na. May pinabibili sa 'yo, e. Marty ka nang Marty d'yan.
HARLEY
Bakit ka galit?
MARTY
'Di ako galit. Sige na, bumili ka na sa tindahan.
HARLEY
Ako gagawa nito mamaya, ha?
MARTY
Oo na.
