EXT. COTTAGE - EVENING
10:10 p.m.
It was getting hard for Maddie to muffle her cries and Harley couldn't ignore it either. Especially when he saw her wiping her tears and her shoulders, shaking from every sob.
A breath escaped his lips when he saw how she buried her face on her knees just so anyone wouldn't notice how much she was hurting. Harley was trying to ignore it, too. He knew he wasn't supposed to see her this way.
Harley stood up, hesitant to go near her or just go back to his room.
MADDIE
Bakit ikaw kasama ko dito?
HARLEY
Maddie . . .
MADDIE
Sana si Gabbie ka na lang. Gusto ko si Gabbie.
He knew how that feels.
HARLEY
Sana nga.
Because deep down, he was also hoping he could be with Marty right at this moment. Even just for a second. Because then, maybe it would be enough and he could finally move forward.
Harley sat beside Maddie, inching a little closer just so she could rest her head on his shoulder. But her cries became even more unbearable and he could feel her shaking against his shoulder.
