Kennedy Aross
+2 weeks

"He don't know." Kennedy shook her head as she spoke on the phone with Maia. She continued to walk around the house.

"Girl imma call you back. I gotta clean." She spoke. "Okay. Bye boo." Maia hung up. Kennedy placed her phone down and walked to Dominic's kitchen. She began washing dishes.

When she finished washing dishes she checked on the food inside of the stove. She swept the kitchen before walking to the living room.

Her son was at school right now. And Dominic was at work. She sat on the couch and wrapped up with a fuzzy throw blanket.

She watched P valley as she laid on the couch. She rubbed her belly in the spot where her baby girl kicked.

She smiled a little before her phone began ringing. "I just said I'll call her back..." She mumbled as she grabbed her phone.

She seen that it was Lynn and answered. "hey ma." She smiled. "Hey baby....um in here at the hospital. What room is he in?" She asked.

"Huh?" Kennedy sat up. "I'm at the hospital. What room is Dominic in?" She asked.

"Ma Dominic's at work. He just left almost an hour and a half ago." She explained.

"Oh nobody told you? Dominic got into a horrible car crash on the way to work. I-i assumed you knew." She spoke.

"W-what? What hospital is he at? I'm on my way." She stood up. "I'll text you the address baby." She spoke. "Okay please hurry." She spoke before hanging up.

Without getting dressed, she pulled her black shirt down and grabbed her keys before turning off the oven.

She slipped her shoes on and headed outside. She locked the door as her phone dinged. She hopped in her car and sped down the road to the hospital that Lynn texted her.

She arrived in almost 30 minutes. When she arrived she parked the car and hopped out. She dialed Lynn's number.

She didn't answer so Kennedy cursed lowly as she walked into the hospital building. She walked up to the receptionist desk.

"Hey how can I help you?" She asked. "Hi I'm here for Dominic brown." She spoke.

She typed on the computer for a second. "Alright what are you to him?" She asked. "I'm the mother of his child." She explained.

"Okay. Well he's on the ICU floor right now so unfortunately you won't be Able to see him for a while." She spoke and Kennedys hands grew sweaty and shaky.

"ICU?" She questioned. "Yes ma'am. Intensive care unit." She explained. "But there is a lobby on that floor. Floor five. You should be able to wait for him there." She handed her a wrist band.

"Name?" She asked. "Kennedy Aross." She spoke. "Okay. Thank you." Kennedy spoke as she grabbed the wrist band. She slipped it on her wrist and headed towards the elevator.

She hopped in alone and headed to floor five. She wiped the tears on her face before sniffling. She placed a hand on her belly and it gave her a bit of peace.

Her heart beat uncontrollably and she teared up again at the thought of being a single mother to two. She teared up at the thought of life without Dominic.

She swallowed the lump in her throat as she reached the fifth floor. She walked off the elevator and headed on the floor.

She seen the lobby on the right and she spotted Lynn standing and talking to a nurse or a doctor with Andrew.

She walked over. "hey Kennedy." She wrapped an arm around her "hi." She smiled weakly.

"So um only two people are allowed to go visit him at a time. I understand that there is only three of you but somebody will have to stay back." She spoke.

"Kennedy you go ahead. Just you. Me and Andrew will see him again later." She spoke. "Thank you." Kennedy smiled weakly.

"Alright. Right this way." The nurse smiled. Kennedy followed her to the room as the lady talked. "He's speaking now and we'll be able to move him to regular care unit soon." She explained.

Kennedy nodded as the nurse opened the door. Kennedy walked in after the nurse shut the door. It was silent and she seen so many machines connected to him.

Tears fell down her face as she walked up to him. She placed a hand on the side of his face. His eyes were open. He had a few cuts and scratches on his face.

He stared at the ceiling. She sniffled as she brought herself down to his lips. She pecked his lips. "Dominic..im sorry I didn't come sooner , I didn't k-" he cut her off.

"It's all good baby. I'm happy to see you." He spoke. "stop crying baby. Imma be straight." He smile a little making her smile. She wiped her tears.

"Where lil man at?" He looked around for his son. "School. He's still at school." She explained as he reached out and touched her belly. He rubbed her stomach slowly.
