Chapter 26

Dante Valentino

I smiled when I noticed Cali laying the comforter off the bed across my body. I knew it was her just by the way she moved around the house, I was so used to her it even scared me.

She had an easiness in her step that it was spy like. She could sneak up on you and change your life before you even blinked.

She was making an impact on my life and I couldn't help but think of her as more than my mission, I was attached to her, and nobody would take her from me.

I laid still on the couch until she came out of the bathroom in my shirt. I couldn't help but admire her from afar as she moved to turn the lights off. Her face was cleansed of any makeup and she looked youthful. My heart skipped a beat at her cherubic features.

She climbed into the hotel bed and sighed. She was out in a matter of minutes.

I chunked my phone on the couch, ignoring he missed call from Roy, and moved from my uncomfortable spot on the couch and towards the king bed. Cali stirred as I placed myself under the covers but only snuggled up closer to me.

Cali Woods

I awoke in a pair of strong arms and someone's hairy leg draped over mine. I groggily wiped my eyes and yawned, my eyes watering in the process. I turned to look over my shoulder and nearly peed myself. Dante was laying right beside me, closely, might I had.

His minty breath fanned across myself and I cursed myself for finding such a perfect man. Who's breath doesn't stink in the morning?

A small smile etched itself on my face as I welcomed his warm body and rather shirtless body pressed against my back. Oddly enough, I felt something press against my butt, and the realization hit me: I wasn't wearing pants.

I squealed and moved my hand under the covers to cover my undies, my hand brushing against something big. I squealed again and pushed myself away from him. Dante groaned and rubbed his eyes, his muscles bulging as he did so. I gulped as I stared down at him, my messy hair falling over my shoulder.

Dante slowly opened his eyes, blinking at the harsh sunlight until his face fell on me.

He gave me a toothy grin.

"Buongiorno amore mio." His voice was deep and husky and had me fidgeting underneath the covers. My desire for him was increasing by the minute.

"Stop doing that." I squeaked out.

Dante gave me a dumb look, "Doing what?"

"Speaking in your language." I said flatly, or at least tried to.

Dante chuckled and pushed himself into a sitting position. His muscular chest had me craving to run my fingers down his front. He moved so he was centimeters away from me, "Does my native tongue get you all hot and bothered?"

Dante licked my bottom lip.

I scrunched my face up and pushed him away, "Dante." I whined.

Dante simply laughed as he watched me try to rid of his germs.

I glared down at him as he turned on his stomach and hid his hands underneath the pillow, he shoved his head on the pillow and groaned.

I poked his back to see if he was awake and grinned when he moved, "What?" He mumbled.

I bit my lip, last night had me worrying. Was Lily afraid of Daniel or commitment? Dante would be my only hope for answers, "Has Daniel talked to you about proposing or anything?"
