The next morning, I woke up to a cold breeze brushing my cheek. Opening my eyes slowly I blinked and stretched from where I was lying in front of the cold embers of the campfire.

Sitting up, I let the blanket fall off me as I glanced around. Amy and Elena were sleeping around the same firepit as me. Noah and Alex were at the one a few yards throw away.

The autobots and Maximals-well they were gone. But I was not frightened. I knew they would be back from wherever they were-I had a feeling Optimus had taken my words last night into action.

As for changing my clothes-well Noah had packed me an extra pair of his mother's jeans in the bag he gave me. Pairing that with my black tank top and flannel shirt from the other day-I was all dressed.

The bitter morning breeze tossed the wisps of hair that had fallen out of my two French braids which by now-were looking quite messy.

I decided to sit down on the log and rebraid my hair into one normal braid. It felt good running my fingers through my thick hair-getting all the snarls out. "Morning Ray,"

Tying my hair tie at the end of my long braid I looked up as Amy sat down beside me with a yawn.

"Sleep well?" I asked her, leaving on her shoulder. She had always been almost like an older sister to me-the older sister I never had since I was an only child.

"Yeah," she ran her fingers through the top of my hair. "Did you?"

"Eh, sort of," If tossing and turning counted as sleeping well. I had spent the whole night thinking about the past couple days' events-meeting Noah and his brother-meeting the autobots-Optimus-wondering how Amy Alex and I would get home.

"You know I have a feeling someone likes you," Amy spoke in a low conspiratorial voice.

"What?" Startled out of my thoughts I stared at her. "What do you mean?"

"Please," Amy rolled her eyes as she ran her hand through her blond hair. "Anyone can see that Noah has his eyes on you."

My cheeks flamed up. "He does not."

"Awww you're blushing," Amy teased in a sing-song voice. Then she patted me on the shoulder. "Honestly Ray, I'm happy for you. He seems like a good kid."

"Thanks," I mutter, looking at my feet. Was that the feeling I had around Noah? Was it that he liked me, and I liked him back?

"Hey girls," Elena sat up with a stretch. My heart thumped as I wondered how much she had heard. She stood up and slung her backpack over her shoulder. "Wanna join me on a walk?"

It was misty and cloudy out. But the air was invigorating, and I hadn't gotten a chance to just walk for fun in a while.

"Sure," I stood up with a smile.

"I'll come too," Amy agreed.

The three of us began walking with Elena. We had decided to just walk the perimeter of the village-making sure we stayed within sightlines of it to avoid getting lost or to avoid being spotted by Scourge wherever he was out there.

Suddenly as we rounded a corner, we came upon Airazor. She was bent over, her head tucked under her wing. She squawked loudly.

"You okay?" Elena asked, approaching the bird with a worried expression.
