"Now who the fuck are you dressed up as?" Blake Lively asked Grace in the actress' living room. The New Year's Eve party was originally supposed to be in their Tribeca apartment but there was a slight incident with a pan left on the stove by someone who asked they remained unnamed in the matter and it was quickly moved to the next best place, Blake and Ryan's about an hour North.

The theme was childhood heroes and Grace hadn't been to a costume party taken so seriously before. Usually a costume party meant someone put on a top hat and masquerade mask and called it a day. Taylor had dressed up as Ariel and spent a good fifteen minutes telling Grace the plot of the movie so she would have an understanding of the costume.

"I dressed up as Mathers, my former butler," Grace admitted as she looked down at the suit, complete with a formal black bow-tie. He'd been with her for as long as she could remember and always helped her with remembering the things that kept her out of the line of fire. He was her hero for so long.

"Not like— see, you could've been a Disney Princess too," Taylor walked into the room which quickly changed Blake's sentence direction.

"Grace didn't watch television until she was twenty-four," Taylor didn't even need to know what they were talking about, "It was the butler or the police officer that brought her to Mathers after the first kidnapping."

"I worry about you spending time around my kids," Ryan chimed in as he carried a bottle of his gin brand and poured it into a glass for Taylor, "There's an assortment of pop in the fridge for you, James Bond."

"Who are you supposed to be?" Grace inquired. His grey suit didn't stand out as anything to her, not that it was much of a surprise.

"Oh, me? I've always been my own hero," he shrugged with a smile and Blake rolled her eyes at him.

"Thanks for letting us move the party here. Pizza will be here any minute," the popstar ignored that comment and began to explain, "I don't want to name names but... we're looking at having to redo the kitchen."

Grace stared at Taylor, "You have the impudence to say that after you were the one who left the range on?"

Taylor played it off and went to say hi to some friends across the room as Blake turned to Grace and said, "Do you know who my costume is, at least?"

"Not a clue."

"Damn it! That sucks, it really sucks. You better watch the classics," she practically warned her, "Get James to tell you about Anna and Elsa or something next time you come visit. The kid won't shut up about it."

"Neither does my niece," the brunette chuckled before Taylor waved her over to come talk. It was only a couple minutes later that the pizza arrived and everyone started to crowd around the boxes to get food while the music blasted through the speakers scattered throughout the main floor. Blake and Ryan were accepting of the carload of junk and decor that Taylor had driven to them that afternoon after the smoke alarms went berserk. Thankfully the fire department was not needed but... it was a close call.

While talking to Gigi, Grace awkwardly sipped her ginger ale and watched as Taylor continued to show off her ring. When pictured with it a couple weeks prior, the news of their engagement had spread online like wildfire and honestly, it was overwhelming. There was a lot of love directed towards them but some mornings they woke up to Tree calling to tell them about what the tabloids were saying that day and a latest group of haters that has become far too involved in their personal business to be healthy. It was hard not to let it fester under the skin but they had been talking about the good things almost every day and really letting it sink in.

Grace really needed it to sink in for a while. She saw the rings on their hands but it still didn't always feel real. She didn't understand how she could be so happy and there not be another shoe waiting to drop.
