Chapter Twenty Two

Days passed and October rolled in, Arianna was now respected and admired by several students for her beating James Potter and Sirius Black in a duel. The Marauders on the other hand were still not getting over the fact that James and Sirius were defeated by a girl on their D.A.D.A. class a few days ago and of course they still didn’t forget about Arianna ‘thinking about’ helping them

“The Hogsmeade trip is this weekend,” said Remus as he read his book, they were under their usual beech tree by the lake just lounging around as usual

“I almost forgot about that,” said James as he crumpled his hair making it messier “I’ll ask Evans to go with me when I see her.”

“Don’t you always ask her?” said Sirius rolling his eyes, Peter just chuckled and Remus smirked behind his book and nodded in agreement

“Whatever,” said James “I can see we’re on the same boat though Padfoot, I don’t see you asking anyone yet.”

Sirius shrugged and put his hands behind his head

“No one interests me,” he said airily “they just increase my boredom.”

“Hmm, good point,” said James in agreement “but if it were Evans I wouldn’t be bored.” Sirius rolled his eyes

“How can you guys be bored with all the detentions you guys have?” said Peter who was leaning against the tree trunk

James and Sirius shrugged

“Those are even more boring,” said James “We’ve had a detention with almost every teacher here.” Sirius nodded in agreement

“They just make you do the same things over and over again,” said Sirius “besides we’re used to it, I bet we even have our own file cabinet at Filch’s office.”

“You think? You guys have had a whole week’s detention with three random teachers this week.” Said Remus peering down from his book

“But that’s an achievement!” cried James “Oh and correction three teachers, plus Filch.”

Remus rolled his eyes as James and Sirius started naming the teachers they were getting detentions from, what they were going to do and how long are they going to serve it

“Lines with Sluggy, it isn’t hard that man is easy to impress,” said James “we’re staying with him for three days.”

“Cleaning stuff with no magic with Merrythought,” said Sirius shrugging “one week, couldn’t she think of any better thing to make us do? Honestly she’s turning into Filch.”

James laughed in agreement

“Aren’t you just upset with Merrythought because you’re still not over the fact that a woman, who has walked out on you, made you feel guilty, and hates you defeated you in a duel in her class and she was on her side?” said Remus, raising his eyebrows James and Sirius scowled

“You know I hate talking about that Moony!” said Sirius covering his ears, so did James

“You know how we hate being scolded about our flaws and mistakes.” Added James, Remus rolled his eyes and sighed exasperatedly

“I’m a prefect-“ Remus started but was cut off

“And our best friend!” cried Sirius indignantly, James nodded vigorously in agreement
