Quick note in case of confusion. In this chapter it does include football. I'll be writing it as football but to stop any confusion, I mean soccer ⚽

Things were starting to get better but it was a slow process. They were all back in school now which gave them a sense of normality.

Nico was very much an athlete but he loved to talk about classes with Skye and James, but of course with Alex, he talked football.

Once Marco left school, he would be the new captain for the official school team and was hoping he could convince the coach to let Alex play on the official school team. Alex was already good so in a years time he didn't doubt the coach would agree.

And with normality, also came Marco's attitude. Yes he had eased up on the bullying but he was still harsh with the players.

The school had two teams. And being the captain of the official team meant he got to train the freshmen team but he only agreed to get out of class.

He was still harsh with Alex. But he didn't play favourites.

On one particular day, it was training for the freshmen team. Skye and James were in class and they were getting used to Alex not being around to protect them. They had their friends to talk to as well so it was going okay for them.

Alex wasn't so lucky. The coach wasnt feeling to good so he left Marco to train them unsupervised.

After the initial warm up, Marco began what probably most would call torture.

"20 laps, go" he ordered.

That was of course to much for them. He wanted to see who would last the longest.

"I can't do anymore" one of the boys complained after lap 2

"Pathetic" he muttered. "Fine get a drink then start on some push ups" he told the boy.

A few more stopped after lap 3, 4 and 9.

The last two boys remaining were suprisingly Alex and a boy named Tom.
Tom had decided he didn't like Alex, he thought the scrawny boy was only captain of their team because of his brothers. He wanted to show them that Alex wasn't good enough.

"You'll never be good enough you know. You're just a stupid kid with connections, that's the only reason your on this team" Tom said as the two boys continued to run.

Alex was already having a bad day. Today was therapy day and he hated it. But he went because James and Skye were finding it helpful and he wasn't going to influence their decisions. He heard the words and they hit him hard as he thought about James and Skye.

"Pick up the pace Alexander. If you want to remain captain of this team you will put a bit more effort into it" Marco called.

The only reason Alex was still running was out of fear of quitting.

When Tom got back round to the start where Marco was and the others who had finished their push ups and were currently taking penalty shots with the boy who was their goal keeper.

"Join them" Marco said to Tom pointing to the line of boys. Tom gladly did.

When Alex reached Marco, he received a glare "you need to stop getting distracted, go join them Alexander" he ordered.

He watched each boy assessing their area to improve before assigning them roles and splitting them into two teams for a mock game.

As Tom and Alex were the last two, the both became the captains of the two teams.

"First team to 5" he ordered.

He was the ref in the game but he also pointed out their flaws.

"Alexander start kicking the ball properly or get off the pitch" Marco snapped when Alex tripped slightly as he went to kick the ball.
