1972

Radha was around six months old when she had already started to stand up. She matured faster than normal babies as she started crawling within her first four months. Normally babies would start to crawl at eight or nine months after birth. Ever since Radha started crawling the White-coats in the labs were all on high alert.

When Rey first started crawling her mother and Howard had not noticed that Rey had crawled into one of the labs and had used a chair to climb onto a desk full of beakers and test tubes that had different mixtures in them. Rey mixed them all up and eventually, there was a blast of bluish-green sludge all over the desk area.

After that incident, all the doors had fingerprint locks and all the widows, doors, stairways, sharp corners of tables, chairs and cabinets were babyproofed. A meatal geat was put in Howard's office so Rey did not leave it. To keep Rey engaged Howard hired a trained personal babysitter for Rey while he and her mother were busy.

The sun had set. All the animals in the woods had gone into hibernation as thick blankets of white-snow covered forest trees. The happiest and most joyous time of the year had arrived; Christmas time.

Rey was eight and a half months now and she had already started walking. Howard had a cabin built for Rey and her mother in the woods that surrounded the Stark Industries warehouse. He had bought over a hundred acres of the land. There was tight security around the woods and even in the sea on the side of the small cliffs. No one had ever stepped into the premises without permission and survived.

Rey sat in her playpen in her onesie surrounded by a bunch of toys like stacking toys, ten-piece puzzles and jumbo building blocks that she was currently playing with. She played with jumbo building blocks in her playpen by the warm fire while Rohini made hot chocolate for herself and for Mirana Willams Rey's babysitter.

"Here you go, dear." Rohini spoke in a kind tone as she handed Mirana a mug of hot chocolate with marshmallows.

"Thank you, Ms. Irani." spoke the girl as she took the mug. Rohini sat down as she looked at the Railroad House Clock and saw that it was already eight in the night. The Starks and the Jarvis would be arriving soon.

A few minutes later there was a click of the door lock opening. "Guess who brought presents!" Howard and Edwin exclaimed together as they walked into the drawing room Howard was dragging a red wagon stacked with a bunch of wrapped gifts.

"Popa 'Owaad!" Rey exclaimed as she stood up. She tried to lift the barred railing of her playpen but was unable to. After the last time she lifted the barred playpen and nearly got burnt by the fire Rohini had her playpen screwed to the floor. The Super Soldier Serum that was passed down to Rey through Steve Rogers' blood had started to show itself.

Mirana unlocked Rey's playpen from the top Rey practically ran out to her Grandpa. Howard picked the baby girl and threw her in the air causing her to squeal in delight before catching her in a hug. "How's our little soldier?" Howard asked.

"She is just fine. She's a real stress package." Rohini said as she placed her hot chocolate on the coffee table and stood up to greet the Starks and the Jarvis.

It had been a while since the Starks and the Jarvis arrived. Mirana had left and gone back home. The presents were placed under the Christmas tree and everyone sat for dinner while little Rey continued to play with her building blocks until one of the gifts caught her eye was a teddy bear in a hoodie that looked like Captain America colours it was not wrapped in gift wrap it just lay open and sat on the floor leaning against one of the gift boxes.

After dinner, the adults went into the living room and got worried when they didn't find Rey in her playpen but were soon relieved when they found her under the Christmas tree asleep on the floor hugging the Captain America teddy bear.
