Tw: Flu symptoms

But before they could find one, the day of their wedding arrived.

The morning sun spilled through the curtains, casting a warm glow on the bedroom. Carina was alone Maya had already left to go to Andys. Amelia, Jo and Teddy would come soon to help her get ready, but she still had some time.
Today was supposed to be one of the most significant days of her life. However, as Carina stirred awake, she couldn't ignore the unmistakable signs of a looming cold. A scratchy throat, a congested nose, and a general sense of fatigue threatened to dampen the excitement that should have filled the air.

She let out a soft groan, burying her face in the pillow as if that could magically ward off the growing illness. Carina knew everyone had meticulously planned every detail of this day, envisioning a celebration of love and commitment. Now, the relentless tickle in her throat seemed determined to challenge the preparations.

As she sat up, a wave of dizziness washed over her. Carina couldn't help but sigh, acknowledging that she had caught the unwelcome guest of a cold just in time for her wedding. Determination flickered in her eyes as she shuffled to the bathroom, hoping a hot shower would provide some relief.

The steam filled the room as Carina stood beneath the cascading water, the warmth offering a brief relief from her symptoms. She couldn't afford to let a mere cold overshadow the significance of the day. Wrapped in a towel, Carina stared at her reflection in the fogged-up mirror, contemplating the resilience required to navigate this unexpected hurdle.

She dressed in a fluffy dressing gown and Sweatpants and made her way to the kitchen. To her dayliy coffee she added another cup of herbal tea. The yogurt she wanted to have for breakfast made her throat hurt and she coughed. She put it back in the fridge and decided to go with oatmeal, since that was warm and better to swallow.

The doorbell rang just as Carinas eyes closed on the kitchen island counter. "Come in, its open." She rasped.

"Jesus, Carina you look rough. Did you and Maya have an unofficial bacheloretts party?" They had decided to not have one, they didn't like the tradition and also they were already married so they didn't do most things as planned. "No. I have a cold." Carina said. "But it sounds worse as it is. I am fine. I will take something and the adrenaline will kick the rest out." Jo lifted her eyebrows. "Okay. Then lets get started."

Teddy did all of the girls hair and Jo did the Make up. The laughed at Amelias failed attempt to draw her own eyeliner. "You cut into brains!" Jo said. "That so much easier." Amelia said as they laughed.

The three girls were wearing red. Amelia wore the one she had bought with Carina. Jo had a simple  dress with a stretchy top that hugged her small baby belly beautifully. Teddys was tightfighted and a littlebid longer, but also in that pretty dark red.

Dressed in her wedding outfit, Carina moved through the morning with a blend of determination and tenderness. She sipped on hot tea, hoping it would soothe her raspy throat, and occasionally stole moments of rest to conserve energy for the ceremony ahead.

The venue was the old Station 23. A privat company had bought it and was now renting it as a venue for bigger celebrationes. It was perfect. Andy, Vic and Amelia had spent the day before decorating it with flowers and ballons and getting everything ready. The official part was held in the barn. They had set up chairs and an Arch and gotten everything ready. Then everyone was supposed to move outside while they got the barn ready. They would move the chairs away and open the back of the barn, where they had set up benches and tables. The dance floor would be where the chairs had been.

Both brides had a holding room, where they could rest before the ceremony. Carina used that and fell asleep on the sofa in her room. Which resulted in Teddy having to fix her hair again.
Carina had pulled her long curls up into a loose bun and added some silver and white flower ornaments in it. Around her face were a few strands framing it beautifully.

Carina's phone buzzed with messages from loved ones expressing their excitement and well-wishes for the day. Despite the physical discomfort, the love and support surrounding her provided a soothing balm to her spirits.

The sun bathed the city in warm April light as Maya bustled around Andys apartment. The blonde had arived punctully at 9 o clock and was greeted by Andy and Vic. Jack came a little later.  The group was a flurry of excitement and nerves as they prepared to make it the most memorable day of Maya's life.

Andy, with her characteristic efficiency, took charge of organizing the wedding attire. Maya's wedding dress hung like a masterpiece, delicate lace and flowing fabric awaiting its moment to shine. "Maya, you're going to be the most stunning bride," Andy exclaimed, a genuine smile gracing her face. "Apart from Carina." Maya said. "Lets say equal." Jack wincked. "No. Stop jack." Maya said and Vic and Andy laughed.

Maya, her heart aflutter with anticipation, couldn't help but return the smile. "I can't believe this day is finally here. It feels surreal."

Vic, armed with an array of makeup palettes and brushes, assumed her role as the designated makeup artist. "Girl, we're going to enhance that natural beauty of yours. You'll be radiant."

As Vic worked her magic, Andy assisted Maya into her wedding dress. The room buzzed with a harmonious blend of joy and nervous energy. Maya gazed at herself in the mirror, the reality of the moment sinking in. "I never imagined I'd be here, surrounded by my best friends, getting ready to marry the love of my life."

Vic grinned, "Well, believe it, because it's happening, and you deserve all the happiness in the world."

As they finished the final touches, the doorbell chimed. It was the florist delivering bouquets of vibrant flowers that would adorn the ceremony and reception. Maya's eyes lit up as she saw the blossoms, a colorful reflection of the love that surrounded her.

Vic handed Maya a bouquet, "These flowers are as beautiful as you are. They're going to add the perfect touch to your special day."

As they made their way to the venue, a sense of camaraderie and anticipation enveloped them. The car ride was filled with laughter, shared memories, and a few happy tears. Vic, in the backseat with Maya, couldn't help but express her emotions. "Maya, you've been through so much, and now you're getting your happily ever after. It's a beautiful thing." Maya smiled and nodded.
