Today is a lesson on romantic composition in music. I don't mean lyrics, I mean the melody, harmony, key, ect.
If you aren't familiar with music theory, I'd recommend not reading this.
Firstly, there's harmony. 3rds and 6ths are particularly attractive intervals. Both of those are all over my song, 6ths especially.
Next, there's key. In my opinion, G Major, A Major, E Major/C# Minor, and C# Major/Bb Minor are the most romantic keys. My song happens to be in the key of G Major.
Honestly, that's about all I got. I know there's more to what makes a composition romantic but I'm tired.
