Upon entering the gymnasium, we received pamphlets containing information about all the clubs. The whole place was converted into a function hall with lightings and a main stage. Every club had their own stall. The variety of clubs were unreal and the level of operation was in a different level itself. Clearly they receive a lot of funding from the school. Most of the students assembled were freshmen.
"Whoa, the equipments here will put professional kits to shame." Miyake said.
"Is that Hinata Nakamura! he was runner up in all Japan junior tennis tournament." exclaimed Minami. Clearly he knows a lot about sports happenings.
"Not only him but many of the senior club members are famous throughout the nation." Okitani noticed.
"I mean this school is all about Japan's best, so it's only natural I guess." said Professor.
"What clubs are you guys joining?" asked Okitani.
"I think I might join the archery club." replied Miyake.
"I don't think I will join any athletic club. It's a waste of time, unless you are really interested in learning the activity or you are already a professional. Especially for the first years. Even if they managed to break in, they still might be a benchwarmer forever." said Yukimura. Most of the group agreed with him.
"I think I might have joined track and field but your reasoning is correct. It may very well be a waste of time." said Minami.
"Even though I agree with Yukimura, I think it's still beneficial to join the clubs. There might be some rewards for joining which may be revealed later. I don't have any proof but it's a gut feeling and it's not even compulsory to attend everyday, see on the second page of the pamphlet. Beginners would be welcomed as well. The more members a club has, the more money they receive from the school. That's how they're able to get better training equipment." I said.
"I mean just for the sake of it, I may join the robotics club. Sounds interesting, who knows maybe I will learn a thing or two." Yukimura said.
"I don't know about you guys, but I am definitely joining anime club." said professor.
As we were talking a girl of average height with purple hair that is tied in two buns with bangs hanging over her eyebrows and peach-brown eyes took the main stage.
"Thank you all for waiting, first-year students. We will now begin the club fair. A representative from each club will explain their function. My name is Tachibana, the student council secretary and the club fair's organizer. It's nice to meet you all."
After Tachibana delivered the opening remarks, representatives from each club quickly lined up on a stage. It was quite a diverse crowd. The club representatives included everything from burly athletes in judo uniforms to students dressed in beautiful kimonos.
A girl dressed in archery gear stepped onto the stage. "Hello, my name is Hashigaki, the captain of the archery club. Many students may be under the impression that archery is an old-fashioned, simple activity, but it is actually a fun and rewarding sport. We welcome beginners with open arms. If you're interested, please consider joining."
"Hey look, the captain of the archery club is hot. I bet that increased your motivation for joining Miyake." Okitani teased Miyake. He was definitely the teaser of the group.
"What! No I am joining because I am interested in archery, not in girls." said Miyake. He was telling the truth. Okitani gave up.
After this we decided to split up and meet half an hour later at the entrance and go to one of the café at the mall.
