CC was the star of the school soccer team, known for her lightning speed and impeccable skills on the field. Despite her athletic prowess, there was a secret she kept hidden beneath her confident facade: She had a big crush.

Y/N was unlike anyone CC had ever met. She belonged to the punk/grunge skater group of the school, with her baggy clothes, rebellious attitude, and a perpetually serious expression. Despite the rumors that circulated about her and her apperience, Y/N was never bullied; instead, she was tolerated, existing on the fringes of society, untouched by any of the brutal acts of hate, other people had to endure in high school.

At lunch break, CC and her friends from the soccer team gathered at their usual spot in the cafeteria. As they laughed and joked, their attention turned to the skater group across the room. The conversation shifted, veering into gossip about the members of the group, particularly focusing on Y/N.

"She's such a freak," one of CC's friends remarked, earning nods of agreement from the others.

"Yeah, I heard she's a complete psycho," another added, snickering as he glanced towards Y/N's table.

CC's heart sank at the callousness of their words. She couldn't help but feel a pang of sympathy for Y/N, despite barely knowing her. "Hey, maybe we shouldn't judge her without knowing her," she interjected, her voice firm but gentle.

Her friends exchanged knowing looks, amused by CC's defense of the mysterious girl. "Come on, CC," one of them teased, "don't tell us you're into the weirdos now."

CC felt a flush of embarrassment heat her cheeks, but she refused to back down. "I'm just saying, she might not be what everyone thinks she is," she replied, her gaze drifting towards Y/N's table.

Her friends shrugged off her defense, continuing to mock Y/N's appearance and behavior. They made fun of her baggy clothes, her serious demeanor, and the fact that she always seemed to have her headphones on, even in class. "Have you ever seen her smile?" one of them joked. "I don't think she knows how."

As the conversation grew more cruel, CC felt a surge of guilt wash over her. But she also felt torn, caught between her loyalty to her friends and her growing admiration for the enigmatic girl who dared to be different.

As the lunch break came to an end and CC and her friends prepared to leave, she stole one last glance at Y/N across the room their eyes meeting for a second, and CC couldnt help but admire the girls eyes, even if her face was neutral, her eyes had a kind of spark in them CC couldnt quiet assess fully. Despite the gossip and the rumors, Y/N seemed to remained unbothered, a silent rebel in the midst of the chaos.

And in that moment, CC made a silent vow to herself: to uncover the truth behind the rumors surrounding Y/N, to bridge the gap between their worlds, and perhaps, just perhaps, to earn a smile from the girl who had captured her heart with her quiet defiance.

The classroom buzzed with the excitement of their teacher announcing a new group assignment. CC couldn't help but feel a flutter of nerves as she waited for the teacher to announce the pairings. As fate would have it, her heart skipped a beat when her name was called alongside Y/N's.

With a mix of apprehension and curiosity, CC made her way to Y/N's desk. The rebellious girl sat there, her headphones firmly in place as always, exuding an aura of coolness that seemed to defy the ordinary. Ignoring the butterflies in her stomach, CC gestured to her head as if pulling off imaginary headphones, hoping to catch Y/N's attention.

Y/N glanced up, looking momentarily confused before realizing what CC meant. With a nonchalant shrug, she removed her headphones and turned her gaze towards CC.

"Oh, sorry..." Y/N's voice was casual, but CC detected a hint of amusement in her tone.

An awkward silence settled between them as Y/N played with the rings on her fingers, seemingly lost in her own world. CC cleared her throat nervously, catching Y/N's attention once more.

"Yeah?" Y/N raised an eyebrow inquisitively as CC extended her hand towards her.

"I'm CC," CC introduced herself, her voice tinged with nervousness.

Y/N snorted in amusement and leaned back in her chair, leaving CC's hand hanging in the air. "I know who you are, princess. Everyone knows. You're the star of the school, the big soccer talent."

CC felt a blush creeping up her cheeks at the mention of her reputation and lowered her hand again. "Oh," she murmured, feeling a pang of embarrassment.

Y/N let out a sigh and rolled her eyes, sensing CC's discomfort. She reached into her bag and pulled out the book they needed for their assignment. "Let's just get this over with," she muttered, flipping through the pages.

Despite the rocky start, CC and Y/N managed to work together pretty well in class, discussing ideas and dividing tasks for their project. And as they talked CC couldnt help but wonder how smart Y/N actually was and how easy school seemed to her. Maybe that was why she was always wearing these headphones, she just didnt need these lessons. And as the bell rang, signaling the end of the school day, CC was kinda dissapointed that her time with this incredibly interesting girl was already over but before she could be too sad about it Y/N turned to her with a suggestion.

"We're not finished yet, how about we meet up this afternoon?" she said matter-of-factly. "We can work on it at my place, my parents aren't home anyways."

CC hesitated for a moment, surprised by the offer, but ultimately nodded in agreement. "Sure, that sounds good," she replied, feeling a sense of excitement mingled with apprehension.

Y/N took a pen from her pocket and wrote her adress onto a piece of paper, before she handed it CC. "Okay, see you later than, Princess"

And with that, Y/N gave her one last glance before she pulled her headphones back on and walked away. CC stood there completly dumbfolded blushing a bit at the nickname the skater girl used. Maybe Y/N really wasn't like everybody said...
