Present Time
As I finished the story, Elora and Kelsie gasped and laughed.
"I can't believe you guys got to do all that!" Kelsie said.
"Yeah, it was insane. Even though our main objective was to just stay low, I think we couldn't help ourselves." I said.
Caleb laughed. "Yeah, damn right about that."
"You're still bad guys, you realise that?" Patty said.
"Oh we know Patty. But we're good people now. And I'm glad we're out of their hair. It's all okay now. We just get a house, find a job and live our lives." Caleb said, putting his arm around me.
"We deserve this. I mean, after everything that we've been through this is our freedom." I smiled.
"Damn right." I laughed and patted his thigh.
"Don't mind us, I need to leave Elora here. Caleb and I have some unfinished business. Patty I'd love it if you could find us a house, it'll be great."
"Of course, sweetheart."
"You painted your car red." Kelsie uttered. I grinned. "I did. I gotta take her back to Caesar's. Going black again." I smirked.
"Ah, yes. The original." She grinned. Caleb and I got up.
"We'll come back tomorrow. Hopefully everything is set straight." I said. "Just don't fly off to another state already. It hasn't even been a full day." Kelsie said. I laughed.
"Sure. Don't worry, we'll be back." I smiled.
We walked out the door and I headed for the car. We got in and I relaxed a little. "That went better than I expected." I said.
"Yeah, that was weird. I do enjoy that you left out a few things." "Yeah, some things are just better left unsaid." I smirked.
I headed for Liam's house and I pulled over.
"Do we really have to do this now, sweetheart?" He asked.
"He's your friend, Caleb. And some time in a little span, he was mine. He deserves to know we're well and happy now."
"With each other." I smirked. "Don't kiss ass, Caleb." He scoffed.
We got down from the car and I headed to his door. I rang the doorbell and we waited.
"You think he's home?" Caleb asked.
"I don't know. I didn't really try to find out. I hope he is."
"If he isn't, this is great."
"Come on, Caleb."
He rolled his eyes.
The door opened and his mother opened the door.
"Hi, is Liam home?" I asked.
"Cora?" She asked. I nodded. "Hi, it's been a while." I said.
"Aren't you supposed to be in jail?" She asked. I froze and I zoned out. Really? My anxiety had to kick in right now?
"No. It was a false accusation. We went through it with the FBI. We're clear." Caleb said.
"Oh, I see. I was worried about you two. Caleb, you're...grown. you have a beard." "Yeah, I need to shave it off. Cora thinks I look too macho."
I rolled my eyes.
"Can we not?"
He laughed and patted my shoulder. She smiled at us and let us in. "He's having a shower." She said. "Alright, we'll just wait for him."
