Y/n had woken back up while ago and found peace in reading a book. Noa and Ness had restricted her from doing any sort of work , so she took this time to pamper herself. After returning to her room from a refreshing shower, she couldn't shake the image of the boy bleeding and bruised.
Visually bothered , she put the book down and left the room retracing her steps to the hallway where she had passed out.
As Y/n arrived at the scene she was met with disappointment. There was nothing, no sign of blood no handprints on the walls. It was as if the boy had never been there. The walls were pristine, untouched.
"Maybe I was just seeing things," she muttered to herself, feeling a pang of doubt. She had already figured out that the boy was from a different stratum, but she didn't know if it was possible for her to cross into another stratum without a valid reason.
Turning to leave, she bumped headfirst into Ness.
"Alexis!" she exclaimed, surprised but happy to see him.
"I'm sorry, Y/n. I didn't see you there," Ness replied, offering a sheepish smile.
She gave him a reassuring look. "It's fine."
As if on instinct, Ness checked her head with his hand and let out a sigh of relief. "I'm glad you're feeling better."
They hugged briefly, but then Y/n raised her brow. "Wait, why are you down here? Aren't the rooms that way?"
He nodded. "Yeah, but I'm not going to the rooms." He showed her a small piece of paper. "It was requested of me to come for a checkup at the nurse's clinic. Someone told me one way I could get there was through this hallway."
Understanding dawned on her. "Let me walk you down there then," she offered.
As they walked, Ness started a conversation. "So, how are you holding up since, you know what?" he asked delicately.
She looked down. "Which event?" she asked, although she knew what he meant.
He hesitated but then spoke. "The breakup."
She stopped, blinking to stop her tears from falling. Y/n looked at Ness. "To be honest with you, I've spent these past days convincing myself that it's all fake and that he'll come and tell me he didn't mean it."
